Weather Eastern Med October?

We will be taking our first cruise on the Preziosa at the end of October, any advice on what to pack for weather? (hoping for a little sun!)

We will be taking our first cruise on the Preziosa at the end of October, any advice on what to pack for weather? (hoping for a little sun!)

As you are doing the Venice to Istanbul itinerary, which I have done twice in late Oct, i would suggest that for most days the weather will be warm enough for shirt sleeves and shorts with the possibilty of the requirement of a light jacket or woolen jumper for the evenings, On both my cruses we had a couple of days of light rain.

when cruising the breeze across the deck will make it feel a lot cooler so a light jumper , etc may be needed on the open promenade areas

 

Temps should be in the range 14 - 21 C (58 - 70 F)

I would agree with Pete. Have cruised from Venice to Greece mid October and it was sunny and warm for 10 days on the trot. However we considered ourselves very lucky not to have to use the jackets and jumpers we brought. Enjoy!

I had a cruise in that region last October and had beautiful weather in Greece on the way down to the Black Sea and the way back. Sunny, mid twenties. However it as only 11 and drizzling in Istanbul. I may have just been unlucky. It got worse as we moved into the Black Sea and that was early October. I only had one warm outfit (mainly for going home) and ended up having to use the laundry service over and over to get my fleece and jeans washed so I could wear them again.

 

So I'd have a couple of warmer outfits or stuff that can be layered on tome of lighter weight clothes and a raincoat.

Thank you all for your replies, yes to be on the safe side I will pack a few warm clothes and a light jacket, just in case........

We did an Eastern Med with RCI early October (Sicily/Athens/Crete/Kusadasi) and the weather was swimsuits all the way!!
