Watch Sailaway??

We are staying at the Pier 66 on Sunday 11/9 and want to watch the ships sail out from Port Everglades. Is anyone familiar with the walk to the beach then down to the outlet of the port?

Or is there a better place to watch like a watering hole on the beach?

They have closed the Pier Top on the Hyatt ( which would have been great) There are 25-35 of us meeting before we sail ourselves on Monday the 10th.

Your best bet would be to walk to the top of the 17th Bridge and watch the ships.

Firstly, it is a LONG walk to the jetties. The last time I did it I cut through to the beach at the Harbour Beach Marriott and you have to walk about a half mile.

It is a hard walk through deep sand and if you aren't in good shape, you'll have problems.

The walk back, you will be walking in the pitch dark as there are no lights on the beach.

There are no watering holes down on the beach. It is all private property so if you do walk and have to get off the beach, you just can't cut through someone's property.
