Pennbank Posted September 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2014 I think that on QM2 the New Passage Information / ship location charts/weather displayed on the TV appear to be harder to read due to the small print on the charts compared to the older format. What are your thoughts ?

Underwatr Posted September 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2014 At least the missing ship's position channel has been restored. Doesn't look as "nice" as the old version though.
lannp Posted September 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2014 Yes the charts are hard to understand but the info giving temperatures and speed, etc. Are clear.
bob brown Posted September 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2014 The screen shots look interesting....certainly a lot better than the typical 'nav' channel that I've seen on most cruise ships. It looks like an actual marine chart, rather than the latter. The ones I've seen are a series of data with a very generalized map of the ships position, rotating with a bunch of distance traveled, to go, ships time, time in other cities, current weather, etc... that often times is not updated by the bridge. And if you just happen to miss one of the screens, it seems to take forever for it to come by again.
Calliope Posted September 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2014 I'll reserve full judgment until I'm on the ship in a few months, but from what I see it looks like a vast improvement.
