supermom2u Posted September 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2014 My husband and I want to do the the Tulips and Windmills cruise with Viking River. I am just wondering what is the difference between Veranda A & B staterooms. Also what is the best time to see the tulips in bloom.

Rare Hlitner Posted September 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) We have done Viking and enjoyed the line. But if you want to see Tulips, it is not about Viking but about going to Keukenhof which is an easy daytrip from Amsterdam. Keukenhof is simply the best tulips display on earth (they have more then 7 million of them) and if you get there at the right time (on a nice day) the place is absolutely breathtaking. We once did a 14 day Viking cruise from Amsterdam to Budepest, but made sure to arrive in Amsterdam a few days early so we could make the trek to Keukenhof (we used the train/bus combination to get to the park). Our timing was near perfect at the end of April...but the timing does depend a bit on the weather. Probably the best time (in most years) would be mid-April.
