Aruba after sunset?

We'll be in Aruba on 10/7 from 1-10pm with our teenagers. We plan to go to a beach or 2 in the afternoon, but wondered what to do after 6:30 or so when it gets dark.

Is it a fun and safe place to walk around? Any different or really good street vendor food, casual restaurants, or things to see? We're not looking for clubs, big-time shopping or fancy restaurants.

Night time streetside at Palm Beach there is a street fair type atmosphere. There are no food trucks and though there are plenty of restaurants, there are a couple of casual restaurants as well as pizza and ice cream shops. Some of the stores will be open.

 

In Oranjestad the restaurants will be open but the stores close at 6 pm.

ever since they built the mall adjacent to the shops and restaurants between the high rise and low rise motels its a great night time area to visit - lots of street people, entertainment and Very safe. worth the taxi or bus.

For nightlife you'll need to head for the Palm Beach area ... nothing much in town any longer.

Around the dock area is perfectly fine....there are restaurants, and hotel/casinos... (the shops will be closed, most likely)....it's as safe as anywhere! You are in no danger.
