Does cabin 10156 on Epic look down at lifeboats

Hi,

Looks like lifeboats are not recessed on pics.

 

If so I tried to count bump outs and looks like this cabin 10156 might

be in the middle where there is a break in lifeboats?

Is this correct?

We were on deck 10 on the Epic, but forward in one of the "hull balcony" rooms. I believe the lifeboats are on the 7th. My impression was that the view from deck 10 was fine. But I was looking back and not straight down.

The lifeboats on deck 7 have a break in them just forward of midship and 10156 is above that break. However, I will tell you that the balconies on deck 8 are jutted out further than those on the decks directly above them so while you won't be able to see directly down to the water, you will have less of an obstructed view than those cabins above the lifeboats. Incidentally, the deck 8 balconies below you are open (mostly uncovered) so who knows what kind of "show" you might be looking down on. Could get very interesting. :eek:

So does that mean that doesn't matter where I am on the deck I won't look down at the water I will see the people on deck 8:cool:

There are two ways to be able to look directly down at the water on the Epic but they both have their drawbacks (depending on how you look at it of course). You could go almost all the way forward on deck 8 (also decks 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14), however, those would be 'cove' (or also called 'hull') balconies as opposed to fully open top to bottom. Or you could go aft to the very back of the ship (this would be our first choice!) and those would look straight down for the most part (plus you get the incredible view of the wake! Nothing better to lull you to sleep IMO).

 

Unfortunately, this is just the way the Epic was designed. For some reason, NCL kinda forgot that all important fact that people go on cruises to actually see the ocean. Fortunately this was corrected for the most part on the Breakaway and the Getaway.

Thanks .... I usually cruise toward the aft and I did notice in pic no lifeboats appeared there. I think I might change to aft and leave my daughters cabin with her dad ( inside) midship. For less "rockiness"
