58Piano Posted July 31, 2015 #205 Share Posted July 31, 2015 Make sure my dining reservations are correct. I like a traditional table for 2 Book specialty restaurants. Book a massage. Get a soda card. Have my ship card punched for my lanyard. Lots of discounts on embarkation day. Check them out.
Tutontow Posted July 31, 2015 #206 Share Posted July 31, 2015 Okay, one of our favorite thing to do on a cruise. As soon as we get on the ship we head straight to the lobby bar and hopefully find a seat. We then sit there with a nice drink and watch everyone come on board. It is great. Everyone is so excited and in such a good mood. It really puts you in the Island State of Mind. Now I don't want everyone following my lead because I won't get a seat:D

CalaDragonflyLady Posted August 5, 2015 #209 Share Posted August 5, 2015 thanks for the reminder! i go back and forth between different lines so i never remember which ones require and which dont. if i remember correctly, NCL actually does muster drills in lounges and restaurants instead of making you stand in tight lines on deck, which is extra nice! but i get them all confused! small price to pay for cruising at least once a year though, dont you think? ;) On the bigger Carnival ships (Breeze, Magic) the muster drill is in the theater, it makes a huge difference! After a tired day of travel, standing in one place for an hour is painful (plantar fasciitis :( ). And when I cruised via San Juan a few years ago, muster was announced in English AND Spanish, which I swear took twice as long  Cruising is definitely worth the hoops we have to jump through! MaiTaiMary Posted October 20, 2015 Author #210 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Now that we've sailed on a ship with Guys Burgers... that's our new tradition! LOL Arrive at the ship HUNGRY. :D Drop out bags off at the cabin... check things out a bit... then get a Fun Ship Special and a Guys Burger. :D
bohica81 Posted October 20, 2015 #211 Share Posted October 20, 2015 go to the deck, eat and watch. As soon as the ship starts moving I get a double shot of jack and toast to good times and safe travels.
CandyCruiser1106 Posted October 20, 2015 #212 Share Posted October 20, 2015 I like to start off with a stiff drink to settle my nerves. I'm completely irrational about all of the things that could go wrong leading up to a cruise, and then in 100% relax mode once I'm on the ship. "Oh crap do we have our passports? Of course we do, they were there the last seven times today, why wouldn't they be there now? What's the traffic look like? This feels slllooooow. .... but the ship doesn't sail for another 7 hours and we're only half an hour away from it. etc, etc". This made me LOL because this is sooooo me!!! Jenhem31 Posted October 20, 2015 #213 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Go straight to Lido (via the stairs) and get a Fun Ship. If it's the Breeze we hit up Cucina de Capitano for lunch. Then it's to the cabin to check out the balcony and take a video of the room before it gets messed up. Change into shorts and head back out! wantocruisemore Posted October 20, 2015 #216 Share Posted October 20, 2015 Drop off luggage in room, see balcony, head out to grab lunch(preferably guys or the cantina), grab a drink and then just walk around and explore, usually ending up in the swings at serenity. Then usually unpack and hang out til muster.

JohnSpo Posted December 17, 2015 #219 Share Posted December 17, 2015 I'll head over to Lido for lunch. I'll load up my plate at the buffet and then go one flight up to eat where it is less crowded. I will check out the Rotisserie or the Fish & Chips stations if that ship has one. After lunch I head over to my cabin to drop off my carry on bag. Then I go over to the Atrium bar and have my traditional first iced cold draft beer and meet some new people. Then before you know it, it is time for the Muster Drill. After that, the cruise officially starts for me.
