Preziosa - Formal Night Attire for Men

On 2 previous MSC Cruises I've been on only about 30% of the men wore tuxedos in the MDR on formal nights. Around 50% wore smart jacket, shirt and trousers and another 20% were more casual again. I'm travelling with my elderly dad who does not want to wear a tux but at the same time doesn't want to look like he didn't make an effort. I assume he'll be ok in a jacket, tie and trousers? Any advice appreciated.

Your dad will be absolutely fine. I think there was more variety of dress on formal night on our Preziosa cruise than any other. Very formal to quite relaxed.

I agree he will be fine without a tux. I've never seen more than 5-10% of men wearing a tux on any of the cruises I've been on. The exception was the New Year one, when most people made more of an effort on theHogmanay gala.
