DoomsdayFAN Posted September 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Have my cruise pretty much lined up and am about ready to commit with deposit. I have a good idea which travel insurance company I'm gonna go with. Just curious now about WHEN would be the best time to buy? Since my cruise is more than a year out, would it be ok to just wait a few months before I get the insurance? Perhaps until closer to when I have it PIF? Deposit - Sometime within the next week from this post. PIF - Late August 2015 Can it wait until July-September of 2015? Or how would you recommend? klfrodo Posted September 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2014 Depends Is it your intention to get a policy that waives any pre-existing medical conditions,,, and/or a Cancel For Any Reason rider? If yes to either of the two questions above, then purchase immediately. If the answer is No to both questions,,, then wait until final payment. Pre-existing - No. Cancel for any reason - Too expensive. So I'll probably hold off then. The only thing I want to add really is "double" the medical coverage for when we're there.
