carmel Posted September 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Can someone tell me how to get to the two main dining rooms? Thanks!
dainew Posted September 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2014 On your floor walk all the way to the back of the ship to the last flight of stairs go down 2 flights of stairs and you will be at Jubilee dining room
Mutumbojimbo Posted September 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2014 The Main Deck should be deck 4. If you're going to the mid-ship dining room, take the forward elevators to the 8th deck (Atlantic) and walk around the Atrium to the entrance. To get to the Aft dining room, take the aft elevators to Deck 8. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
SadieN Posted September 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2014 For the aft MDR go up to 9 and wait in the bar. You'll be able to see when the doors open and avoid the sardines in the lobby.

carmel Posted September 17, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Thanks. One in our party has a bad knee so I always try to find the quickest, most direct way to go.
serene56 Posted September 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) if you have traditional dining your dining room should be the midship one. take the forward elevators on what your sign and sail card says if anytime you will need to hoof it to the aft elevators Edited September 17, 2014 by serene56

ATD is always the MDR with Atrium access. The aft is assigned dining. Some Fantasy class ships use all or just part of this MDR for ATD. (Over here the Inspiration used the outer edges and the Imagination uses all of it .)
marshhawk Posted September 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Yup, ATD is midship, at the MDR that serves breakfast and brunch. Which is great if your cabin in forward. We had set time dining once, with a cabin way in the front of the Riviera, took us a good 15 minutes to get to dinner each night. LOL, walk off the calories before dinner. carmel Posted September 17, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted September 17, 2014 We are traditional and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it is the aft dining room. I think I'm going to walk to the aft on my floor then take the elevator up. I'm not too keen on walking through the Casino because of the smoke. SadieN Posted September 17, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Just know that the aft MDR lobby gets extremely crowded before they open the doors. Like, if the ship went upside down everyone would be stuck to the ceiling, crowded.

That's the only way to do it to make sure you don't get blocked. Some people will go to deck 3 first via the forward or midship elevators, and then find themselves blocked by either the other dining room or the kitchen. From your stateroom, go to the aft elevators, then go to deck 3 or 4. That's the only way I knew to get there when I started cruising, which is why I never knew of a kitchen blockade until I read the complaints about it on these boards. Anytime dining is almost always in the midship dining room, but if there aren't enough people signed up for anytime, then some people with traditional dining will be assigned to one of the floors of the midship dining room. SadieN Posted September 18, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Fantasy class MDRs are on 8. Other classes have them on 3 and 4. Edited September 18, 2014 by SadieN
k2excursion Posted September 18, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Fantasy class MDRs are on 8. Other classes have them on 3 and 4. oops! That's right. I'm having one of those weeks. Can't keep the threads straight. carmel, you've got the right plan for the aft dining room. Out your stateroom, go down the hallway to the aft elevators, and up to deck 8 to avoid the kitchen blockade. Show up right at your assigned dining time or a couple minutes late to avoid the craziness of people gathering/cluttering outside the dining room. Both of your dining rooms will be only one floor.
