Can anyone recommend a hotel near Port Everglades that offers transportation to and from the pier and allows you to park your car on their premises during your cruise? Thank you.

We use a Hilton family hotel that allows you to leave your car while cruising and also has a free shuttle to and from the pier. It is not very close to the pier (maybe 10-15minutes away) but it is clean, quiet, and the staff are great. Last year it was $8 per day to leave the car in their lot if you stayed there. There are many hotels close to the pier so you can chose the level from 5 star to 2 star. For hotel suggestions you can also check the cruise line pre and post cruise packages for names.

With their park and cruise package ..... We stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Ft Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Hyw 84 954-828-9905

It's reasonable, was clean and has breakfast included. It's across the street from a shopping center with a large Publix grocery store. You can park free in their well lit parking lot for the duration of the cruise.

The package includes a shuttle to the port. You can take a taxi back or like we did, pay for the shuttle back to the hotel. It was convenient and waiting when we disembarked.

:) We've been staying at the Sheraton Suites In Plantation. We only take long cruises and they let you park for the entire cruise. In Jan we left our car there for 68 days in their INDOOR GARAGE They provide Breakfast buffet or menu included the rooms are very nice and the outdoor rooftop pool and workout room are fantastic. The pool is huge They include transportation to the ship but you have to take a cab back (around $30.00) The best way to book is through www.stay123 as their prices are cheaper than through the hotels themselves. They list about 10 hotels in the Fort Lauderdale area that provide free parking and transportation to and from the port. They have listings for hotels at all the U.S. cruise ports. We have used them many times, no problems.

Look at descriptions of the park & cruise deals. I found most in Ft Lauderdale might include free shuttle TO the port - MOST required you to get your own transportation back to the hotel. (not a problem with us but just a heads up as something to look for) :)

Embassy Suites on 17th near the pier is another where you can park and take shuttle to your ship.

Embassy Suites has a large Publix located in the mall behind it. There is also a free cooked breakfast offered along with the usual cold items.

A number of restaurants are within easy walking distance. There is a managers reception with free drinks and munchies every night the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

We have tried a few of the other hotels in the immediate area, and while they all have their advantages, the Embassy Suites is now our first choice in Ft. Lauderdale.

DH and I are staying at a La Quinta near the port - $8 per person for the shuttle (only is one way), but free parking for up to 14 days. The AARP rate for the room is about $115 + taxes. We always take a taxi back to the hotel after the cruise anyway, so a one-way shuttle is fine with us.

We drive to FLL to cruise regularly and have found the Faifield Inn on Griffin Road is an excellent choice. They offer a package that includes breakfast, parking for up to 21 days, and transportation to and from the pier. They also offer shuttle service to and from a number of restaurants nearby.

We've stayed several times at the Rodeway Inn Dania, caters to cruisers. Basic motel, free shuttle to pier works like clockwork, from the pier you'll have to call and wait or take a cab, $10-15. Rooms are basic, clean, upgraded beds. Good WiFi, the usual basic breakfast included. We usually get a room for well under $100, maybe $75 depending on the time of year. Park your car there but arrange price through www dot Stay 123. Restaurant on site or walk to the small-boat marina across the road to the Rendezvous and dine inside or al fresco, good grouper. They'll shuttle you to the Publix but if you have a car you won't need their shuttle :) Rodeway is not high class enough for a lot of folks but they do a booming cruiser business.... just giving you options. Check them out on tripadvisor.com m--

Is there a grocery store within walking distance of the LaQuinta Inn? Need to stock up on emergency rations (Doritos, Pringles, Honey Nuts, Coke Zero etc) for a TA crossing.

There aren't any big supermarkets nearby, but there is a Cumberland Farms convenience store a few blocks (0.4 miles, 8 minutes walking) away. That should be OK for your emergency supplies.

You have to cross one busy road to get there. There is a light, but this is South Florida, so be careful.

For our next cruise, the one night pre-cruise stay is $198.That is for Jan.23-24, 2015. But we have booked the Day Room rate for our disembarkation day, $49.99 from 10am-6pm.

Sounds like this will be a good option as our flight isn't until almost 8pm.

Rodeway does not list a Hotel in Dania - would you happen to have the address?

Yes, but we were told it is for a maximum of 7 days and there is a per diem charge after 7 days. Not an issue for many cruisers, but definitely something to be aware of.

The rate rules showing on their website for the cruise package state that the package includes complimentary parking for up to 30 days.

Good, but that's not what we were told in 2012. Perhaps they changed their policy or we were given incorrect information. We were only there for a 7 night cruise, so we never questioned it.

We stayed there pre-cruise back in February before an 8 night cruise and have reservations there before an 11 night cruise next March, so your post made me do a quick check of the rate rules on their website. We booked through hotelnparking.com for the cruise package last February but we booked through Fairfield's website for next March.
