Atlantis: Difference other than the beach between DIGS pass and Beach Day pass

I did a thorough search on this board but I can't find a specific answer to this question.

I understand that DIGS pass allows one to visit the Aquarium and predator lagoon, and no access to the grounds, pools, beaches, or other venues on the property.

While Beach Day pass allows one to get on the public beach in addition to the benefit DIGS pass offers.

My question is: what else can I get access to with a Beach Day pass? Say, can I visit more grounds? Lagoons? Can I visit Maya Temple Shark Lagoon, etc?

Thank you very much!

Beach pass allows access to the Main beach only (unless it's too rough, then they open another beach). It does NOT allow access to the Mayan Temple Shark lagoon (which is part of the waterpark) or any on lagoon. or pool.

Both passes restrict where you can go on the grounds.

Thanks for the quick reply!

It's disappointing that we couldn't get to walk around in Atlantis unless we buy aqua pass. Our 4-year-old isn't tall enough to enjoy the water park. So I had hoped that with Beach Day pass my parents would be able to enjoy the scenes by walking around.

But one will be allowed to walk through Atlantis from DIGS to the beach, right? How's the view on the way?

The walk is beautiful, passing pools and gardens etc. But it's quite a walk, and you can't even sit in one of the lounge chairs along the way.

Thanks. The walk is not a problem. My parents love to walk and my husband can carry our little one. The thing is that I need to decide if the walk and beach is worth extra $24 pp...

By the way, does the beach day pass include towels?

When we did the beach pass, we had access to a few of the animal habitats like the turtles and sharks over by the Beach Towers. At that time, the beach pass also included lunch. I'm not sure if it still does.

Thank you! that sounds promising. I guess what I need to do is to call Atlantis to see what's included in the pass.

We booked the Beach Day Pass through NCL for 8/27 and were able to wander the grounds freely. Admittedly we didn't roam a ton b/c we stayed by the lagoon (water was too rough at Atlantis Beach) and then walked through Marina Village to leave the resort for lunch. After lunch we walked through the casinos and The Dig (and predator tunnel) and headed back to the lagoon, but it didn't seem overly restrictive to wander all the grounds with the exception of the water park. Maybe it was just a lax security day? I didn't even see anyone checking for wristbands at the entrance to The Dig.

Thank you! it's very encouraging. Could you please tell me the name of the lagoon? Is it open to beach day pass holder all the time or just when the beach is too rough?

From what I've seen posted here its only open to day pass visitors when Atlantis Beach is too rough. According to this map - http://www.atlantisbahamasvacation.com/images/resort_map.pdf - it's called Paradise Lagoon. It was directly across from Atlantis Beach. Our guide said we could have gone down to Cove Beach too but the lagoon suited our needs since we have young kids.

Thanks! I wish Atlantis Beach would be too rough too when we were there. :D

I'd be prepared either way. The response I got from Atlantis was this. We were there in August and were not allowed to use the lagoon or the beach in front of the Cove. They even had different type of loungers which were for Cove/Reef guests only.

Discover Atlantis Beach Day Package:

. Adult Price: $69.00

. Children (ages 4-12) Price: $40.00

. Included: The Discover Atlantis Aquarium Tour, access to west beach and all marine habitats.

. Not Included: access to pools, slides and private lagoons

. Availability: limited based on guest occupancy; sold on first come, first serve

That's the best description I've seen in years.

Keep in mind that the Paradise Lagoon is not a natural beach. It's manmade in the center of the property. Still a good option when west beach is too rough.

Thank you! Very good description. We are also thinking of getting the Beach Day pass for our December trip.

I guess our best bet would be to purchase the pass in Atlantis so it would include lunch.
