Tender Ticket questions for Half Moon Cay, Belize

I have been on a total of 10 cruises, so I am not new to the tendering. I have read a lot of reviews lately that talk about going to get tender tickets. Now mind you that it has been a few years since I have been on a cruise that you have to tender to an island, but I have never had to go get a ticket.

 

Is this something new?

 

We will be on the Dream in January and I believe there is at least one port that we tender, maybe even two.

 

I will also be on the Glory in May and we have one tender to half moon cay.

 

Do we need to go somewhere to get tickets to be able to tender?

 

I was able to get FTTF for the Glory but they are all sold out at this time on the Dream.

 

So if I have FTTF, how do I get the tender tickets for the Glory?

With FTTF you go to guest services and they walk you to the front of the tender line. Without it you will go to a designated area usually Lido and get your tender number. The higher the number the longer you wait.

Do they put that in the Fun Times or is it announced in the morning?

Both. I checked the Funtimes from my last cruise albeit to Cabo bit it looked like they started handing out tender stickers about a half hour before debarkation.

For the tender tickets it's usually for people that want to get off the ship early. If you don't have any specific plans for that port day they will open up the tenders for everyone with no tickets necessary once the rush is over.

For anyone that has experienced this lately, if you have FTTF for the cruise and are tendering at Half Moon Cay but also are renting a cabana what is the best way to get to the tender? I understand with a cabana you are issued a ticket and are usually sent to a lounge area to wait for first tender. But with FTTF you are supposed to get priority tendering anyway. Has anyone had both these situations occur on a cruise? Don't want to get grouped together with the wrong grouping, lol. Any information would be appreciated!

On Breeze, tender tickets were handed out at the entrance to the theatre. Carnival excursions where then sent to wait on the lower level of the theatre and everyone else with a number was sent to the upper level to wait. FTTF met in the lounge near the theatre and were escorted to the front of the line, even in front of the Carnival excursion groups, when a tender arrived.

If you rent a cabana, a villa, or the oasis, you will be told to meet in a certain lounge, at a certain time, and you will be led down to the first tender over to the island. Doesn't matter if you have FTTF or not.

 

If you have FTTF, when you are ready to go over to the island, just go to guest services, and they will lead you to the front of the line. No need to get a tender ticket. Same deal if you are Diamond or Platinum.

That's how we did it the only time we've tendered. I was worried about the ticket thing as well. I went to where they said to go for tickets and they had given them all out. We didn't have an excursion, so got up at our leisure, ate breakfast, and walked onto the tender with no wait after the rush was over.

It depends on the ship you are on. A small ship like Fascination does not give out tender tickets. If you are platinum or fttf or have an early excursion you will meet in a certain place and get the first tender but on the small ships such as this one no tender tickets. They did hand them out on the Valor and the Splendor tho.
