OfTheSeasCruiser Posted September 23, 2014 #84 Share Posted September 23, 2014 From Inselvideo River Ems Conveyance QUANTUM OF THE SEAS - Emsüberführung That is a great video. Thanks for sharing. Did anyone notice that sometimes it is difficult to see the "Seas" in her name that is in front of the glass somewhere on deck 14? It looks to be from the lightning inside behind the name. Brian131489 Posted September 23, 2014 #85 Share Posted September 23, 2014 so where is she now then? She is out in the north seas, doing some calibrations, waiting to dock in the morning at Eemshaven
Tall-Cruiser Posted September 23, 2014 #86 Share Posted September 23, 2014 She is out in the north seas, doing some calibrations, waiting to dock in the morning at Eemshaven Looking at Marine Traffic she appears to be doing lots turns and going up and down within a certain area as part of the sea trials and test I suppose. This is the heeling test. They test out how far the ship can tilt to the sides.

OK that makes sense as some of the turns appear to be sharp turns. Thanks for explaining this.

Hypo Posted September 24, 2014 #95 Share Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) These ships are supposed to be able to tilt 45 degrees and recover. Hopefully without me on board. When they were performing these tests on the Oasis it was reported that they had difficulty making the ship heel over for the necessary tests. Oasis and Allure, due to their extra width are very stable. Edited September 24, 2014 by Hypo
