Kkross Posted September 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2014 I have a suite booked. I have traditional dinning booked with no wait list. It was my understanding that prepaids were only added if you had my time dinning?
Rare LMaxwell Posted September 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) I have a suite booked. I have traditional dinning booked with no wait list. It was my understanding that prepaids were only added if you had my time dinning? Correct. Prepaid is ONLY charged to My Time Dining guests. You can prepay them if you wish with traditional dining (just call up Royal or your T/A) or have added to your onboard account (default setup for traditional dining). The choice is yours. If you have OBC (onboard credit) you can pay out of that once onboard. Edited September 20, 2014 by LMaxwell

I made the reso. My husband pd the deposit. I don't see any reason he would have added them on his own. BUT, they are there regardless. It is not going to change anything them being on now, I will assume? And just to confirm...the prepaids are only for dinning?

Prepaid gratuities cover the entire service staff on the ship. If you prepay them you will not be charged any additional amount to your onboard account. Langley Cruisers Posted September 20, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 20, 2014 I guess you have to decide if this is worth disputing. You will be paying the gratuities at some point, right? If you don't pay them as pre-paid, they will be charged to your onboardaccount daily and you pay them at the end of your cruise (well, when the credit card bill comes in). It's your call as to whether or not to dispute it, as I said. Obviously a system glitch, as others have said. The tips/gratuities cover your dining team and your stateroom attendant. Once you pay your tips, there is no one else to worry about except for perhaps room service, if you order that.

It's not hurting anything being pd now..as long as I'm not charged again 😉. thank you everyone

Just take along a copy of your paid bill/receipt. I'm sure it won't be a problem; we've pre-paid the last several cruises and never a double charge. :)
fishtaco Posted September 20, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2014 If your original booking price has not changed then you are in luck:) If you pre pay at booking then they show up under charges along with taxes under the original price to give a total. You would not be the first to have pre paids added to the booking without the total costing anything more than the original booking without them ;)
