San Juan - Marriott Stellaris or Caribe Hilton?

One night pre-cruise on JOS from Pan Am pier in two weeks. Which would you choose and why?

I've stayed in both. The Hilton is closer and has a lot more property, but I thought the Marriott rooms were nicer and I really liked the nightly salsa band in the lobby lounge. I'd say its 6 in one, half dozen in the other.

We stayed at the Stellaris several years ago, and it was a gorgeous hotel.

I've stayed in both. I liked the Hilton better but the location of the Marriott was better. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

 

We are staying at the Marriott for our upcoming cruise this time again since we have points.

 

You can't really go wrong. Both are nice.

We have stayed at both. If given a choice I would stay at the Marriott.

Better location, more things in walking distance eg. restaurants and shops. A much better beach.

We've stayed at the Caribe many times using Hilton points and it's nice.

 

The Marriott is probably just as nice if not better, and is in a better location for walking to restaurants, stores, etc.

 

You really can't go wrong with either:)

We always stay at Marriott .. used to be free with my points .. last few times had to pay and got great deal bidding on Priceline. Great hotel, pool, and beach. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Marriott for us 99% of the time in San Juan. Next, El Convento. FWIW

I've stayed at both and found both to be very good. More things in walking distance to the Marriott such as a Walgreen's about a block away. Not much surrounding the Hilton property, but I think the property itself is nicer.

 

Customer service at the Marriott was way above what I experienced at the Hilton which is probably why given everything else being equal, I tend to stay at the Marriott Stellaris.
