THE G TEAM Posted September 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2014 Does anyone know the entry fee into the pools and what that entry fee includes?
Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Does anyone know the entry fee into the pools and what that entry fee includes? I presume you mean the Hot Salt Water pools at Mt Maunganui, which are just along from where the cruise ships dock? http://www.bayvenues.co.nz/VENUES/Aquatic+Venues/mounthotpools/Mount+Hot+Pools+Prices+2014.html
Condocat Posted September 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2014 If we're talking about the same beach/pool there was no charge to enter the beach but $5 fee to rent a shovel to dig a hole in the beach for your hot wTer pool experience. Have fun!
THE G TEAM Posted September 23, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Thanks for the quick answer Kiwi Kruzer. DH and I plan to walk The Mall to the mountain, climb the mountain, then hit the pool at the bottom. I'm just a bit confused about the pricing - not sure what a Concession Fee would be for. Thanks for your 'out of the box' idea Condocat!

Have fun! The only beach in NZ where you can dig your own pool is Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula, quite a way north of Tauranga / Mt Maunganui. Thanks for your 'out of the box' idea Condocat! The concession fee is usually a cheaper rate for students and pensioners.

If you dig in the sand at Waiwera, just north of Auckland , you will also get hot water .

And actually I think there may also be a spot somewhere near Raglan but neither that, nor Waiwera, are well known. Do many people dig at Waiwera? How hot is the water?
