Self Debark-timing

I;m still going to call the airline but speaking to customer relations sounds good. I'm not an american citizan, canadian, but we fly in and out of Buffalo. I don't think I can do the GOES card but thanks for the ideas!

You can get a NEXUS card. It is compatible with the GOES system and almost always gives us TSA pre-clear (shorter line, no shoes off, no taking out laptop), it also will give you much easier entry into both the USA and Canada. Fewer questions, less searching, shorter lines (sometimes).

Well worth the $50 for five years.

Thank you monicajay, we have been considering nexus for a while. For some reason I didn't know it helped at the airport too!

Just one comment to add that while you will likely make it, please have a back-up plan prepared. We have been on a couple of cruises where we were not able to even start disembarkation until around 9:30 due to some Customs issue. One of the cruises was out of Florida (I think it was FLL). So stuff can and does happen at times. Doing a little pre-analysis of potential options at least gives you some peace of mind if worse comes to worse.

Kiyoko,

You will be asked to be out of your cabin by 8:30.

Breakfast is served until 8 so you may want to take your carry on luggage with you to the restaurant.

Under normal circumstances you will disembark no later than 9:30. There could still be a line at CPB so you may not actually exit the terminal until 10ish if you are among the last off the ship.

Thanks for your quick response. Sounds like we can be slow pokes and still be hanging around the airport for a bit--which is good. I can't stand rushing and stressing in my old age. Plus, getting my son off the ship is always difficult since he never wants to leave.

Thank you so much everyone for your input. I called our airline and they put us on a later flight with no extra charges for the change. They also told us if we get there earlier they would be more than happy to try to get us out earlier. Very accomodating for sure!
