ABQrobin Posted September 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2014 Our cruise ship lists 2 different boat snorkeling options, both catamarans, one with lunch and one without. Just wondering if anyone has done these. We have done lots of snorkeling from shore but would like to try a boat this time. Afterwards we can play in the water at MahoganyBay beach area. Rare crewsweeper Posted September 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2014 These catamarans are usually cattle boats in terms of people on board. If you were to head down to West Bay (Tabayana beach) you could hire a small boat to take you out to the reefs for relatively small cost (assuming you had your own snorkel gear). Guest 2000 Posted September 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) Have ya been on Free Radical? I did not feel it was a cattle boat at all. It was wonderful with amazing food. Info here and here Upachaya also gets good reviews though it is not a catamaran. Or as mentioned above you can hire a small local boat to take to to several places in the Roatan Marine Park, Ya don't need to go to Tabyana...just head to West End and snag any hungry guy with a boat.
