MalibuCA Posted September 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2014 My husband and I will be cruising to Belfast, and we are considering three different private guides to show us the city of Belfast and to take us along the Antrim Coast to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and Giants Causeway. The three private guides are: 1) Belfast Mural Tours, 2) Paddy Campbell's Belfast Black Cab Tours and 3) Belfast Millie Tours. Have you had experience with any of these guides? If yes, please share with me your experiences, and tell me which guide you recommend. Thanks, Shelley
Illyria Posted September 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2014 We loved our Belfast Black Cab tour.
newgrange Posted September 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2014 Ask is there one will take you up the Torr Road, instead of swinging inland on the way to the Causeway. Choose that one. I guarantee you will never forget it. May only be possible with tours that do not use buses.
KirkNC Posted September 30, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2014 We used Paddy's, the cabs while cute are a little impractical. There was a plastic divider window between the front and back so it was difficult for those in the back to hear anything very well. In addition, the seats in the back were not very comfortable for longer rides like the causeway.
MalibuCA Posted September 30, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Thank you for your frankness and advice. The ability to hear the guide is certainly of primary importance. I have a question re the Torr Road. What is so special about the Torr Road? Why is it a "don't miss?" Thanks, Shelley
kbubbles Posted September 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2014 We did this tour in July. We used Belfast Black a Cab Tours. I would strongly recommend them. It was a wonderful day. The pub near Giants Causeway is an excellent place to grab a bite to eat.

I have a question re the Torr Road. What is so special about the Torr Road? Why is it a "don't miss?" Thanks, Shelley It is an astonishing drive, hanging on the edge of the hill, sweeping up to fabulous views of Scotland and down into secret bays you can only get to by this road. The buses can't do it.
