jd10367 Posted October 28, 2014 #101 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks for the heads up with the rebate and calling. I went to the cashier on the first night and had no trouble getting the rebate. Now for my questions. We always book our next cruise while on board or at least use the open booking. When I told the host we booked for May of next year she asked for our resv number and she'd let CR know. She did save us. 300 on our ocean view on top of the buy one 1/2 off sale. Then she told me we should just book straight through CR. Well we don't want to miss out on savings booking on board invade the casino offer isn't as good. We are diamond nod usually have balconies so that's a 100-200 OBC. From what we understand any of that woukd be null and void with CR. We also check for price drops. Is this something that we can call CR for and get? Does booking with CR effect put double points for using the RCCL credit card and what about Crown and anchor status? This was my first cruise having the VIP status. I got invited at the end of our early 2014 cruise so didn't get the full gist. Thanks for any help.. PompeySailor Posted October 28, 2014 #102 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Can answer a few things for you C&A points will not differ because of VIP membership, a separate program So you only get double points for JS or above suites When we have booked before through casino with existing OBC, you are correct you cannot combine the two. When we book through CR we lose our balcony discount, but the savings in the bigger discount, outway the OBC or discount lost. Example GS on a cruise we are going on if booked normally would of been $2833 Including taxes and gratuities. When GS booked through Casino cost only $1987 taxes and gratuities also included So you can see quite a big difference (saving of $846) so even losing $200 OBC still $646 cheaper. No idea on the RC Visa card Hope this helps Happy Days! FYI any Rebate you have currently from casino needs to be used before March 15th 2015, when the new CR VIP program rolls out. Use it or lose it:) Edited October 28, 2014 by PompeySailor

You will still get double points on your RCI credit card when paying for your cruise. As far as price drops through CR, they will give you a casino rate so any price drops may not apply since you will be getting a discounted rate for your cruise. jd10367 Posted October 28, 2014 #104 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks everyone.. We only got one price drop anyway, but I always check just in case. I didn't realize the discount for CR could be that big. At least until the revamp. Can tell you since I asked no one will loose their status. Once in you are lifetime members. I did get chocolate covered strawberries sent to the room via the host. They "cost" me $110 a strawberry.

brotheranddoramae Posted October 28, 2014 #106 Share Posted October 28, 2014 To reach the level of play that qualifies you to join the VIP club status you have to play the machine with your Sea Pass card inserted or show the dealer at the tables your card. You have to reach 2100 points to even be invited. They don't have this information posted any where, you have to ask for it. Keep in mind, this is how it is now, I have no idea what it will be in March of 2015.
PompeySailor Posted October 28, 2014 #107 Share Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Important to note you cannot just join, it is by invitation only 2100 points on your Seapass card will get you key chains and T-shirts and small cash rebates!!! These points have to be used on the cruise and do not carry over. Separate from rating for VIP invitation membership Obviously when Seapass is inserted in slot your play is tracked, but if you want Casino to track you, you need to ask them. Esp at the tables. Qualifying for CR VIP invitation you need to be doing some of the following Play 4hrs a day in the casino (approx) $50 per hand at Blackjack $25 per spin on Roulette $3 per spin minimum on slots Doing some of the above will almost for sure get you an invite from Casino Manager. jd10367 Posted October 29, 2014 #108 Share Posted October 29, 2014 When the host asked me if she could do anything I told her don't look at my numbers this cruise I have been loosing so not in here as much. Of course my big break came on the last night where I won and then played for 5 hrs. The first 6 nights if I was in there 2 hrs it was a lot. nolimits Posted October 29, 2014 #109 Share Posted October 29, 2014 They know your there if your part of CR ,every dealer is informed at your game of choice. You should always tell them also, and always be tracked. Even if just passing thru casino and decide to drop Money on a roulette number 1 spin. They add it all up.I find the hosts to be nice but you really need to introduce yourself to Casino Mngr. This is his domain profit/ lose.Your rebate is a charge back against his bottom line. American Bear Posted October 30, 2014 #110 Share Posted October 30, 2014 RCL (Club Royale) and Celebrity's Blue Chip Club have been reciprical for years. We are just average slot players. After we qualified for the Club Royale, we were automatically put in the Blue Chip Club. We did not even realize it until we went on a Celebrity cruise and the slot host informed us. We have also used our rebates from RCL on Celebrity and vice versa. Haven't been on a Celebrity cruise for a while, thanks for the info, now wish they'd join the loyalty programs too!:)

A little additional info off topic, for those with some extra money, buy 100 shares of RCL and get $100. on board credit on a 7 day cruise, more for longer cruises! Carnival also has this stockholder for board credit program!

Smiley4 Posted October 30, 2014 #113 Share Posted October 30, 2014 And right now RCCL is almost at an all time high share price, so 100 shares would run you about 7k with fees and commissions. :( If you book any type of room through CR, it's definitely not combinable anyway. PompeySailor Posted October 30, 2014 #115 Share Posted October 30, 2014 No one ever said no to us on combining!Guess we were lucky! When we book through Casino never have other OBC or other discounts been combinable, and we have been booking through CR for over 12 years! Guess you must drop more than $20k a cruise:) or be the BIG whale;) Anyways even losing OBC and balcony discount, CR rate is much cheaper:D
slotmomma3 Posted October 30, 2014 #116 Share Posted October 30, 2014 Shareholder OBC is never combinable with sales or C&A discounts, but I ALWAYS get the the OBC from this even when the cruise is comped and I only pay taxes and port charges
Rare Shippy Posted October 31, 2014 #117 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Haven't been on a Celebrity cruise for a while, thanks for the info, now wish they'd join the loyalty programs too!:) We only had 2 cruises on Celebrity when we hit Diamond status on RCL. Our next Celebrity cruise, they bumped us up to the Elite status. That gives you more perks than Royal's Diamond.

I've read this whole thread...and I have an idea...but would love to hear the top 5 "to do" list where casino is concerned. Thank you so much!!! Firstly congrats:) 1- introduce yourselves to the Casino Manager and Casino Host (They will know you are on the sailing), good to get acquainted early 2- go to the cashiers desk and get your cash rebate (Take with you any correspondence you have from CR as proof, as some people have reported having to wait a few days to collect) 3- make sure if playing slots you put card in to track play ( remember these points are for gifts and small cash rebates) There will be a list by cashiers desk for what you can get, you MUST cash these out before you leave ship, use em or lose em! 4- When joining a new table, hand your CR VIP membership card to dealer, they will alert Pit Boss (casino manager you are in action) 5- Play $50.00 on Blackjack, $25 per spin on roulette and stick to the $3 and greater slots to rack up another rebate. Have a great cruise and be lucky:) Graham Any other questions, gladly will assist as we have been in the program for many years.

tomko2 Posted November 10, 2014 #123 Share Posted November 10, 2014 Can anyone tell me how the Casino on Celebrity Reflection compares to the casino on RCL's Liberty (or any Freedom Class ship)? Have cruised lots on RCL but only once on Celebrity (Constellation). The casino was very small and cramped. So many players around the Black Jack tables they pushed right into the slot players nearby. We would like to do a Christmas cruise and the Reflection is a very good price right now (for a Christmas cruise) however 7 days on a ship with a cramped casino -- not good. Thanks for helping Kathy
tomko2 Posted December 7, 2014 #124 Share Posted December 7, 2014 Has anyone played in the Annual Texas Hold'em Tourney? Or does anyone know how many players are seated in this Tournament? I believe the current Oasis sailing is this year's Tourney so have posted the question on their Roll Call as well. Thanks Kathy
