Back to Back Cruise Question

I'm sailing two back to back 14 day cruises with Celebrity. I have the same suite for both trips. Can anyone confirm that I will not need to disembark/embark (with or without luggage) at the end of the first cruise and start of the second. Many thanks.

If you are sailing from the USA you will need to go off the ship and through Border Patrol (customs & immigration) at some point. You do not have to pack up your luggage or take anything off the ship with you other than your passport and any forms that Boarder Patrol requires.

 

At USA ports you will have two options to do this. (1) if you plan on staying on board then you will be asked to meet someplace on the ship at a certain time, usually towards the end of the general disembarkation. As the last non-b2b passengers disembark they will escort the b2b passengers off the ship, through Boarder Patrol and then back onto the ship. (2) if you plan on going ashore for the day for touring or errands then you can leave the ship at any time during general disembarkation and pass through Boarder Patrol along with the disembarking passengers. If you do this you will usually not be allowed to re-embark until the general embarkation has begun although you will be given an in-transit pass to bypass the check-in lines.

 

If your sailings are outside of the USA in an area where you are not required to pass through local customs and immigration after the first cruise then you will generally not be required to disembark on turnaround day.

 

Procedures sometimes vary from cruise to cruise depending on local requirements at a given port and the practices on management on that cruise. You'll be given instructions on the procedures for your cruise a few days before the end of your first cruise. Just make sure that guest relations knows you are a b2b passenger.

You will have to disembark the ship upon arrival at the port of departure. All guests doing a back to cruise will be required to gather at a specified area to be accompanied by a guest services agent to meet a customs officer at the terminal. Afterwards, if you wish, you can immediately board the ship or go out and visit the city. You will be receiving a new key card for the second cruise.

I know that we will have to do the online check-in but do we have to print it out?

We were asked for the new express pass in June when we did back2back in Alaska, the. They handed us the new key card.

When we did our only b2b a couple years back there was no check-in process for the second leg. They just used our information from the first leg and gave us our new sea pass on turnaround day before we went through customs.

We did a back to back last November with 500 others who has the same (wonderful idea) we did.

 

They gave us a few options for turn around day which included getting our new sea pass cards. The location was Livornio (Rome) Italy.

 

We could have stayed onboard and then collected our new sea pass cards at a conference room during a block of time in the AM. If we missed that, we had to wait until a bit later in the AM to get them from Guest relations. There were no limitations to when or if you could leave the ship. There were so many, they had to make special arrangements I guess. I think as posted above, it will vary port by port.

 

We never printed our second cruise documents, though we did checkin.

 

We didn't change cabins, so there was no need to pack which is your situation. As an FYI to others, if you do have to move, as our friends did, the stewards will help. They moved all their belongings, they only had to do "light" packing. Things on hangers and many things on shelves were moved for them.
