thomros Posted October 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Could you please advise whether the fridges in the cabins on P & O are proper fridges and not just mini bar fridges as on the American ships. Do they keep drinks etc really cold or just barely cold.

Do they keep drinks etc really cold or just barely cold. Mini bar fridges like on the American ships, don't keep your lagers or white wine super cold. Of course us Orstralians like our refreshments icy cold, freeze your tonsils for sure and true. Take my advice, if you will, ask your cabin steward for an ice bucket or two in your cabin, perhaps replenished once or twice per day, whack thy beers and wines in there, lubblerly jubberly. Above all, enjoy !! Edited October 6, 2014 by NSWP
Growler5010 Posted October 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2014 The ones we have had (on most of the fleets ships) have been cold enough to nicely chill sparkling wine.
annieuk Posted October 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2014 The fridges are certainly cold enough to keep fizz and other drinks cold but if you ask your cabin steward for an ice bucket - assuming there isn't one in the cabin - he will then refill it late each morning and provide some sliced lemon slices too! richleeds Posted October 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2014 You get a cooler in your cabin rather than an actual fridge. If you open the door and feel inside you will probably think it's not switched on. However if you leave a drink in overnight it will be cool by the morning. If you buy drinks in a port and hope by leaving them in the cooler a couple of hours they'll be chilled for sail away - that's not the case. You'll need ice from your steward as mentioned. besberry Posted October 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Kept my gin (and tonics) cool enough! That was on the Aurora.
