Hello and welcome back to Live from Norwegian Getaway. If it’s Tuesday it must be St. Maarten? St. Thomas? St. SOMEWHERE? Ah yes, St. Somewhere, more commonly referred to as Falmouth, Jamaica!

Let’s recap: Tropical Storm or Hurricane Gonzo (Gonzalvo technically) has forced us to change course so here we are in Jamaica, Mon. I have relocated the satellite office to Margaritaville! It’s my first time visiting Falmouth and I plan to just stick around the port area. (Yeah, right, I am staying here at Margaritaville until I hear the horn! ) I did make the rounds of some shops where I purchased some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee to bring home for those unlucky friends of mine who did not get diverted to coffee Utopia! After sampling some jerk chicken, I figured it was time to sit back, relax with an adult beverage and use the time to post some images for you landlocked CCers! I’ll caption them so you’ll know what you’re seeing! I mean heck, I have a couple days’ worth of photos to share!

Last night’s dinner was in Cagney’s and I am happy to say that everything was good, except for my warm apple crumble. I have a feeling that the apples were sliced, and placed in acidulated water to prevent browning. Sadly, I thought I was biting into a lemon. The Aunt confirmed my thoughts and our server promptly replaced it with raspberry crème brulee! That was awesome!

The filet and sides were very tasty and we are considering NOT going to Teppanyaki and hitting Cagney’s again! A note about the dining package: I’d do it again! Really having fun trying all sorts of different places to eat!

The casino was a little more 1125 friendly today, so that made me happy. I decided to quit while I was ahead and cashed out when I got onto the plus side! There’s always tomorrow too! Also last evening, there was another ship off on the horizon.

Yesterday I attended the technical discussion session with the Captain and Chief Engineer. Someone asked about the little man in the canoe who rowed up to the ship as we were leaving Miami. No, really, they did ask about the pilot. Captain Rune explained the pilots’ purpose and suggested that we would see a pilot as we approach our ports. There were a few first time cruisers in attendance and some were concerned with the change in itinerary. I explained to them that ship happens, and that all would be fine and we’d enjoy the ports. Plus, the cruise line, and the Captain are not going to put the ship or its guests at risk.

Tonight’s dinner will be at La Cucina so I have high hopes for the meal!

Overall, the guests don’t seem too upset that we are now going to the Western Caribbean. The Shore Ex team was able to get an array of excursions set up for guests to choose. We haven’t decided about Cozumel yet-guess I better see what I can come up with. Worst case scenario, I park it at Senor Frogs or someplace else with cheap wifi!

Thanks for stopping by!! Will post as much as I can today!!

Enjoying your day-by-day live review, and the pics so far. THanks for doing this for us.:D:D

Thanks! Makes me feel good to see that people are enjoying it! I have been really bummed that I can't post pix since the ship blocks most of that type of site. I guess next time I will see if I can do it some other way....

I think that Allure just arrived

Meg, great review! In Cozumel go to Ponchos Back Yard. It's at the end of the pier, has the best margaritas and guacamole and has free wifi. So does Diamonds International!

Have one for me!

Cheryl

Ok...thanks for the tip...and I will! :D:eek::p

Totally enjoying this!! I also love the fact that you are not complaining about the change of itinerary as I am sure many are. ( of course those are the ones that will blame NCL ;)) To me a cruise vacation to anywhere is wonderful - even if I have done the Western 3 times I would make the best of a 4th!!

In Cozumel, La Choza is a "not to be missed" restaurant. It's about 3 blocks off of the main square. They have the most AMAZING sauce....spicy and creamy all in one. You can buy some to take home. I usually buy 2 big bottles to bring home...truly tasty stuff!

Hmmm...wish I wasn't flying! Grr...I can squish in luggage......

Keep the tips coming....I like to explore, my problem is I get a case of draggin' butt and I don't feel like doing anything. I am really boring on a cruise...

You're welcome! It's such fun. Cruising is addictive I will tell you!! Aside from a big thunderstorm this AM, and a little rain the other day (actually early AM) we've been lucky with the weather.....I really do love the ship....always something to do, even though I am just doing nothing really.

Hello again!

After spending a few hours at a restaurant, I headed back to the beautiful ship that will be my home for the next few days.

BTW I am currently in another satellite office, accessing the WIFI from the pier. Lucky for me, we tied up starboard side to port, so I am able to get the signal and it's fairly strong.

Wound up just having a couple cold beverages and heading back here for lunch. Since I am able to get wifi here, I will probably not venture out again. Might have to check out Fox News or MSNBC to see if there are any updates on the storm. At this point, it will not bother us, so I just want to see what's happening..Oh, I guess I can check on the interwebs too!

Just a few more random pics....again, thanks for stopping by and joining me on this voyage!!
