Are you concerned that the people in the next cabin may hear you? If you are than don't be so loud.

 

Thanks for being considerate, many aren't and sometimes don't realize that they are disturbing the other passengers.

 

On one cruise the neighbors were very young and real religious fanatics. Every night and morning we would hear them scream over and over OH GOD! OH GOD! ;)

Having stayed in the penthouse on an M class ship last March, I can tell you that the connecting door is located behind the dining room table and between the buffet and the desk. Generally not much noice, etc. going on in that part of the cabin.

 

We were very hesitant to play the piano being cognizant of how LOUD it is. If that actually becomes a problem for you, I would just ring your neighbor's door bell and explain the situation. People are pretty reasonable (generally).

 

Otherwise, I'm afraid the staff would be hesitant to tell the PH residents to pipe down. I found that when occupying that cabin you can pretty much do what you want (within reason) and the staff will accommodate your wishes.

 

Redardless, I wouldn't worry about noise if I were you because the most used parts of the PH are far from the connecting door. Just look forward to your beautiful cabin and enjoy your trip!

Sorry, but tape will do nothing to block out noise. As stated, the main noise issue would be from the piano. We have been in the Penthouse a few times, and actually never used the piano, except when my partner was practicing. He only played during the day and we were very conscious of the noise for the neighbors. Tape will not help if the issue is the piano. A nice conservation with the guests would probably work best.

On more than one occasion, we have had an adjoining cabin and it has never been a problem. I think you will be fine.

You don't have to seal the door if you have disturbing neighbors. We've had some and just called guest services and they came to seal the door with what looked like duct tape. Since the ship was doing it for us, we had no qualms with whatever they were using.

We were in this stateroom.:) Being able to book this Suite when it is not being used by the Penthouse Suite, is a luxury and in my opinion. Well worth a little aggravation, if there is a little noise. ;)

 

We heard the piano one day. We were getting ready to take a nap, so we simply plugged our white noise machine into the wall socket that was next to the adjoining door. We never heard the piano after that. Had we been disturbed, we would have said something to the neighbors, as we saw them frequently and exchanged pleasantries. :) They seemed very approachable. However, others occupying the Penthouse may not be. :rolleyes:

 

We were invited to the Penthouse twice for a party on another cruise. The occupants invited their neighbors, rather than have them get angry over the noise. Very nice.;)

okay.....don't laugh.....but we were on the Summit with adjoining rooms and our neighbors were very early risers. They were not loud or obnoxious by any means but we heard them laughing, talking, coughing, etc. 5 a.m. is NOT my ideal time to get up on a cruise :eek:

 

We happened to meet the hotel director at a CC meet-n-mingle and were telling him about it. He seemed shocked like we were the first people to ever complain about noise :rolleyes: When we returned to our cabin they had sealed the door off with masking tape :cool: we got a real good laugh out of this BUT lo and behold.......IT WORKED :)

The noise from the PH is among he reasons I believe those particular adjoining cabins should be reserved for rental by the PH until close to sailing or until the PH has been booked, as often the PH would like the adjoining cabin, but can't have it when booked, as it's already gone.

 

Although they are larger and better decorated, the downside come with the noise.

Taking a 14-day cruise. My cabin has a door to an adjoining suite, and posts elsewhere suggest that there will be pass-through noise.

Many sailings on different ships since 1987, in a cabin, with an adjoining cabin door, and never experienced any noise from the other cabin. Now if they heard some from ours is a different matter:rolleyes: Well at least in 25 years our neighbors have never said anything:D

 

No need to do anything other than go, enjoy, and have a wonderful cruise.
