To Laminate.. or Not To Laminate..

I bought my tag holders on e-bay. I like t. hem because they're re-usable. When I go to e-bay I do a search of Carnival items and the tag holders are found there.

Like others here we use packing tape to laminate. Then I punch a hole in both ends and attach with zip ties. Never had one come off yet.

 

Yup, same here, but I just use the same tape to attach them to the bag handles. Never lost one. I still print an extra one to place on the inside of each bag as well. On our last 7 day, the ship passed out a memo on day 3 to each cabin looking for a bag missing from one of the passenger since the start of the cruise. Wow.

We had these but on our last Carnival cruise one of the porters wrote FTTF across them using black permanent ink. I haven't been able to use them since so naturally they were tossed.

 

Must of ran out of the orange FTTF stickers they put on ours.

We have used luggage tags from Serendipity for years. Bought them online from Favors by Serendipity for $3.00 a piece. Don't have to worry about packing tape, staples, or laminating. Very strong and sturdy.

We bought these. It's so much easier than laminating or taping the tags and you can use them over and over and you know they're not going to get torn off.

Packing tape works great, kept my tags on even in the rain.

All you have to do is use rubbing alcohol (or a magic eraser) and permanent ink comes right off.

At Staples they have laminating sheets that you don't have to run through a machine ... i imagine they would be cheaper than having someone do them. I used them last cruise and they were great.

 

I use the 3M ones. Buy them at Target or Walmart in the office supply area. Then we punch holes in them and use zip ties to affix them to the bags.

 

This past cruise I didn't have any zip ties as they must have been put in storage. So, we just used about 5 or 6 staples on each tag. For the first time, one of our tags was ripped off and that bag was unaccounted for until 9PM the first night.

 

Next time, we're back to laminate sheets and zip ties. :cool:

I used to laminate them, but found packaging tape to work just fine. Last few cruises we haven't done either and just stapled the paper to both suitcase handles and haven't had a problem.

I got bumped from the Spa version of a 4J (can't remember the category code) on my 9/28/14 cruise about a month before the cruise. But I got a balcony - woohoo!

I just take my 4 luggage tags into the UPS store, and for less than $2, all of the tags will go on 1 sheet. They then cut them for me, and punch the hole for my zip tie. I love nice laminated tags.

I always use the tag holders from Serendipity and I stencil big flowers on my luggage. I can spot my bags from the other side of the room.

We always use 8 1/2 by 11 Page Protectors. I believe DW gets three luggage tags per page protector. Just seals up the sides with packing tape and attach with cable ties.

I bought a laminator once because I was worried the tags weren't sturdy enough. What a pain in the butt. Next cruise I went and bought reasonable luggage tags I could insert the printed cabin tags. Problem solved and no worries, ever.

I got a pack of 5 luggage tag holders on E bay for about the price of a roll of packing tape.

They look like the CC ones posted on page 1 but have no logo.

 

If you vacation at least twice in your lifetime, they are all worth the cost and save you tons of time and worry.
