Rare Lobbylin Posted October 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2014 Can anyone tell me how long it took to clear immigration at Shanghai Baosham terminal please? We dock at 7am and I had allowed 2.5hr to clear and get off the ship to meet our private tour, but now I am not sure that is long enough. I recall it took up to 2 hrs before at other Chinese ports, but now I think they are being more rigorous with taking temperatures etc due to Ebola etc. having said that I remember having to put my finger on a digital thermometer at one other Chinese port before! Any advice welcome. It is easier to put back my tour by 30 minutes now, instead of on the day!
dw64 Posted October 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2014 We disembarked the Sapphire Princess in May. It took no time at all to clear customs. About the usual time it takes in Fort Lauderdale. Quick & easy. Taxi wanted Chinese $$ rather than creditcards.

C 2 C Posted November 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2014 We are going through the process right now and it is a nightmare. Chinese officials are checking very page in passenger passports and the lines are backing up. We have been told to wait in. Comfortable lounge while the back log is processed. Our arrival was delayed by port authorities and clearance was an hour later than scheduled. We,re expecting at least a three hour process. Sent from a Celebrity ship... Any idea how long it will take from the port to the center of the city approx the area of the Bund and Nanjing Road ? I'll need to take a taxi from there to get to my Grand Central Hotel in March.
