Nanner Posted October 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2014 We are soon to embark on the Maasdam for the 42 day Western Mediterranean cruise. I was wondering if those who have done this cruise before recall if any onboard flamenco show was offered in the Spanish ports. My spouse loves flamenco guitar, and I enjoy that and the dancing. We are planning to see an hour long show on our own while in Barcelona, but I was hoping we get a bit more flamenco on this trip than that. I realize past performance may not be a guarantee, but with stops in Cadiz, Almeria and Cartagena, as well as Valencia and Barcelona, I can surely hope... catl331 Posted October 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) On the Prinsendam for an overnight in Barcelona we had a "local folkloric show" called Catalan Rumba, and then between Barcelona and Cadiz there was a "Flamenco fusion" group called Passionatta consisting of three men on guitars and singing, with two ladies dancing. This was not a West Med cruise, but the start of a T-A. Edited October 15, 2014 by catl331
iflyrc5 Posted October 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2014 On last fall's cruise on the Maasdam they brought flamenco groups on board at 2 different ports (one going each way) don't remember which ports. You are going to have a wonderful cruise - we loved it last fall.
