Aussie Cruisers Posted October 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Firstly, apologies if this has been answered. Background Info: We have booked Murano Restaurant for first night of cruise. We apparently leave Sydney dock at 8. Our reservation is 9:30. Question: What time is muster drill? Question: Will there be enough time for us to get dolled up to arrive on time? Thanks!! Mark.:p ;) :D

Question: Will there be enough time for us to get dolled up to arrive on time? Thanks!! Mark.:p ;) :D We had a similar occurrence when we sailed the Summit out of San Juan... An evening departure (8:30 PM) Muster Drill was about 7:45 PM It most definitely interrupted / played havoc with some people's dining plans (rushed out of Restaurants / DR mid meal) On Celebrity, Muster Drill is a "presentation" in a Designated venue / your Emergency Muster Station (not on the lifeboat deck... And no life jacket required) My best advice... Get onboard early Get dressed for Dinner early We had Late Dining in the MDR... So after the Muster Drill our evening went ahead as we had planned And yours will too (you'll be dressed already for Dinner... And therefore can head off to some spot to enjoy Sailaway before going onto your 9:30 Dinner Reservation) hope this helps, Cheers! The_Big_M Posted October 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Both Solstice cruises out of Sydney I've had this year, with 6:30-8 p.m departures, have had the lifeboat drill at 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. I'd expect around the same time for yours. They get it over before departure so you will have time :), but may miss sailing out of the harbour, :( while you're getting dolled up.:D
Neil R. Posted October 22, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Hi - I h we done 3 cruises on Solstice including a over night on its very first arrival. Muster drill will be between 430 and 445 - they will do it before first dinner seating starts.
jan-n-john Posted October 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Seems to me the best way to view things like this is to keep in mind that everybody is in the same boat (pun intended). Everybody has to attend the same muster and everybody will be affected more or less the same as you will. Go with the flow. Be happy, don't worry. Max Circus Posted October 22, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 22, 2014 When we sailed on Summit in April 2013, the first night we had reservations at Qusine. I think they were at 7PM. Our departure time was 8:30PM so muster was at 7:45ish. The waiter advised us ahead of time that we'd have to participate in the drill midway through dinner. We had a couple of courses at dinner, then they instructed us where to go for the drill. The break was actually helpful. it let us digest a little and get ready for the next few courses when we returned.
