$hip$hape Posted October 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2014 Planning the NCL Sky sail away out of Miami. I'm looking for a quieter place than the sail away party area. Never been on the Sky before, so wondering if we may go outside, forward on the Pool Deck(Deck 11)of the Outrigger Lounge? Me thinks, if the weather is not favorable, we could just go inside the Lounge. Or would it be better to go aft, Deck 11, to the Sports Bar ? Nalagh Posted October 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2014 I think for inclement weather the Plantation club is a great choice. There are pictures on page 3 of this review. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1799909
david_sobe Posted October 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) The Sky is an older ship and you can go on the deck in front of the bridge in the front of the ship. Get their early because the deck fills up fast. You feel the breeze as the ship sails away and you get the best views of the Miami Beach and Fischer Island. Today's modern ships have no area like this so take advantage of it. They even have a hot tub and kiddie pool up there. But once you get to the ocean walk back aft to see the Miami Skyline in the distance. Enjoy! Edited October 18, 2014 by david_sobe

Originally, I WAS looking at that deck in front of the bridge. WE still have another month so I'll piddle with this idea.
getupgo Posted October 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2014 I just looked at the Sun deck plan and it has an observation lounge. Is that the same as the deck in front of the bridge in Sky?
$hip$hape Posted October 19, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) I just looked at the Sun deck plan and it has an observation lounge. Is that the same as the deck in front of the bridge in Sky? I had the same question. It looks like, on Deck 11, in front of the Outrigger Lounge there is an outdoor public space. I would assume the Outrigger Lounge is the observation lounge. (the kiddie pool and hot tub are on Deck 12) "Design changes included... and moving the bridge down by one deck to accommodate an observation lounge/spa complex" Edited October 19, 2014 by $hip$hape
