TAYLORCPA Posted October 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2014 We are going to be in Nassau from 9 am-11 pm. My plan is as follows: Take van (there's 5 of us) to Ardastra Gardens Walk to Bay street, get some lunch (suggestions?) Take bus to Pirate museum (looks like it's about a mile so not sure if everyone would be up to walking it or not) If anyone is interested, walk to Junkaroo beach What changes would you make? Thanks! Rare CruisinCrow Posted October 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Here's what I would change: Take van to Ardastra Gardens Walk from Ardastra to Fish Fry, get some lunch. We liked Goldies best but Twin Brothers was also good. Take bus back to town, then walk to Pirate museum. It's about a mile and a half from the Fish Fry to town. The bus stop in town is just a block from the Pirate Museum. If anyone is interested, walk to Junkanoo Beach. It's Junkanoo, not Junkaroo. :) ETA: don't miss the lorry parrot feeding at Ardastra. It's a lot of fun. Edited October 22, 2014 by CruisinCrow
TAYLORCPA Posted October 22, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 22, 2014 I forgot to put a fort in. Any suggestions for which one? One we could walk to would be nice. Thanks!
Rare CruisinCrow Posted October 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2014 You can walk to Fort Fincastle or Fort Charlotte. Fort Fincastle is in town about a mile from the Pirate Museum. Fort Charlotte is close to Ardastra Gardens, right across the road from the Fish Fry. You can check out the reviews and pictures on Trip Advisor to see which one appeals to you more. We've only been to one of them and to tell the truth, it was so long ago that I'm not even sure which one we went to. :)
TAYLORCPA Posted October 22, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Dang it, after looking at TripAdvisor I forgot Queen's Staircase too. It looks like Fort Fincastle is there. We might not get everything done! Here's my revised plan: Take van to Ardastra Gardens Walk to Fish Fry & have lunch Take bus back to town Walk to Pirate museum and/or Fort Fincastle/Queens Staircase Go to beach if we have any energy Given that we don't leave port until 11 pm is there any reason to take an afternoon break on the ship and then go back out? I thought I remember reading that almost everything closes at 5.
tink77 Posted October 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Fort Charlotte is only a few minutes walk from the beach..literally right across the same street is the ocean and you can walk by the ocean until you hit the area where everyone swims within couple minutes. cruiseapril Posted October 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Kind of a long walk from Ardastra to Bay St. Would take a cab or bus. There are lots of places to eat around Bay St.
marshhawk Posted October 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 25, 2014 I would recommend getting all the street waking portion done during day late hours. Just saying.
