Silver?

Is silver still a good buy in Mexico? I know years and years ago we would always buy silver necklaces for next to nothing.

Kathy, I sailed the Navigator in June, I bought 2 rings and a pandora silver bracelet, I have my own beads, I paid cash and paid $100 for an $185.00 blue topaz ring and $50 for a $125.00 turquoise ring, the bracelet was given to me free, I had already purchased the rings and found the bracelet on the way out of the store. Have cash and have it separated so they are not able to see how much you have, just pull out what you want to pay and go from there.

I have to disagree here...

there is GORGEOUS silver for sale in Cozumel, but you need to go to the small vendors and haggle about the price. Every year I buy a piece or two. Of course, it depends what you are looking for as to whether you will find "quality".

Buy from the local vendors! Downtown, a block or more off the main street, great stuff and half the price of the big stores.
