Whiter teeth

Hi Everyone!

Considering so many pictures are taken on a cruise, I was looking for an over-the-counter product that will work well in whiten my teeth.

I would just like to have a brighter smile without having to go to a dentist and have it professionally done.

Any suggestions???

A dentist would probably give you the best results, but ohhhh the $$$$! Have you tried the Crest strips?

I'd like to have this done too but I have several crowns and an implant right in the front of my mouth. Even if I did have my teeth whitened, they'd stay the same colour. Wish I'd thought of that before I spent a small fortune in my mouth.

I used the crest white strips, they work pretty good. They do not stay whiter for 6 months like the box says, maybe 2 or 3 months or so.

I've been using Colgate Simply White toothpaste for four weeks. They say you'll notice a difference in two weeks, but I've noticed nothing.

I am a walking advert for Whitestrips, people always ask me if my teeth are naturally that white, etc... And, naturally, I tell them that they are that white, naturally![img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img] I love them, and do them once every 6 months at the most!!

I bought the new Premium Whitestrips recently and I had a lot of pain due to how strong the gel is for the Premium. I only used them one day because they made my teeth hurt so bad, and I have never had any problems with the 'normal' Whitestrips.

If you are a first-time user, I would suggest the 'normal' ones, and you can get those, SUPER cheap (brand new, of course) on Ebay!

After my DH and I spent almost $300 apiece to get the dental trays made, DH noticed his dentist had the white strips for sale in his office!

We use our trays every 6 months, they work great. If I had it to do over again, I may have done the white strips first.

We just had a dentist on our local news talking about teeth whitening. He said for the best results go to a dentist, have the trays made and use the whitener they sell. For over-the-counter products he recommended the Crest White-strips as being the best. He then went on to say that the toothpaste whiteners were basically a waste of money. HTH

Last month my husband and I bought a Crest Pro Whitening Spinbrush toothbrush. We brush with Crest Vivid white toothpast. Within a week we noticed a big diffrence. I will never go back to a regular toothbrush. Our teeth are much whiter then they use to be and my husband is a heavy coffe drinker.

Lisa, I just finished my cosmetic dentistry course and I promise you it was worth every second of discomfort and every penny.
I had porcelain jackets on all my top teeth although they were pretty perfect I wanted them slighly bigger and life lasting.I also has a course of bleaching on the bottom teeth and the whole look is amazing.
Go to the dentist! No competition! Its worth it!

I tried the strips and hated them. For one thing they were way too big for my mouth and I had a hard time trying not to gag. I got the kind last week with the q-tips. I cant remember who makes it but it is called swabplus. You break the swab and liquid goes to one end that you dip in the whitening powder. You put that on for one minute then rinse. I have been using them for about a week and notice a bug difference.

I used Crest White Nights- the gel you paint on with the little bitty brushes. Waste of money- no change and I couldn't wear my bite guard with it. (I grind my teeth at night.)

I got better results with Colgate Simply White Nights. I can use it with my bite guard. It tastes nasty but does the job. I have a crown on a front tooth too, so I go just as white as the crown and stop.

first off I want to say that all this teeth whiting talk makes me think of the episode of FRIENDS where Ross gets his teeth whitened and it's so bright that he's afraid to go on his date but he does and figures he just wont smile blah, blah!

anyway, I have the crest white strips and use them very seldom because I think they are very VERY annoying, after only 5 minutes I want to spit them out, they foam up too much and slide all over the place. My bf's mom is a dentist and just got one of the lights in her office and she may do it for me for free.
Cross your fingers for me ladies!!!!

The place where I tan has this stuff you use 2X a month in the bed, after the first time I could see a difference. It's $5 a pop, not to bad when you look at the prices of the strips.

Just finished using the whitening kit, which I had made from my dentist.
There is a big difference!.
My teeth are not only whiter, but they are brighter and shinier.
I am 52, love red wine and cafe au lait, and am very happy with the results.
It cost me $500-Canadian.

I too have had cosmetic dentistry, best investement I ever made!! I am able to maintain very white teeth, my naturals as well as veneers with daily brushing using Rembrant tooth paste. It costs about $7.00 a tube but worth it.

Isn't it amazing that there are so many of these products, none of which work very well. They are all pretty nasty to use and don't do much.

Now, how about that bikini line...nothing works for that either.

I not only had daffodil yellow teeth, but they were incredibly crooked. My dentist put on veneers, not only straightening every tooth, but now they are white. They look fabulous. The cost was very reasonable. I love them.

I like Crest Night Effects - a little tricky to paint on with the little brush, but it worked very well for me - I noticed a lot of whitening within a few nights.
I do not like Crest Whitestrips - they feel uncomfortable to me and don't work as quickly. Just my 2 cents. . .

For the most helpful hints on the Whiter teeth subject. I need to try the crest whitner strips as this is what my dentist recomends, my teeth our so yellow I'm embarrassed to smile!

I used the Crest Premium White Strips, and noticed a difference, but the only thing I didn't like is that it covers your front teeth only. After doing the two week period with the White Strips, I've been using the Colgate Simply White toothpaste for the past couple of weeks, and have noticed a real difference. I'd say my teeth are a good five shades whiter, and definitely brighter. Enough that folks have commented on how pretty my smile looks. But your milage may vary... I used the Simply White toothpaste, but I did see a difference. I have bridge work on each side and my two front teeth and all the bottom teeth are mine. You could really tell a difference in mine and the bridge. After using the toothpaste for about 4 weeks they all look the same color.

Just my opinion...I have had noticable difference with the Crest Whitening Strips and no problems using them other than talking a little funny when I have them on. But like someone already mentioned I don't think it lasted for 6 months. Also have tried the overnight Paint I think Colgate Night effects..No luck with that
