Skinney Girl Drinks

DW is wondering if GoS, or RCI in general offers Skinny Girl Alcohol Drinks?

Skinny Girl drinks are lower calorie only because they cut the proof of the alcohol. In effect, Skinny Girl vodka is 60 proof instead of 80 proof, hence the 25% reduction in calories. Your DW can do the same thing by asking for reduced amounts of alcohol in her drinks. Of course, in lots of drinks, most of the calories come from the mixers used. Diet coke will save you a lot of calories. Avoiding the sugary fruity drinks will save more calories than Skinny Girl. You want to save calories, order a vodka and soda instead of a pina colada.

Yes, the mixer is usually the culprit.

If vodka & tonic is a drink you like, ask the bartender on the ship if they have diet tonic with lime (Canada Dry makes one version). The lime kind of hides that diet-y taste, and it's about 5 calories per serving. I was doing a low-carb thing a while back and that was my go-to drink. On my last two cruises, one ship had it (the Allure) and one did not (Vision), but maybe they just ran out.

A vodka water with a lime is only 90 calories. And zero of the fake sugar that the "skinny girl" drinks are full of. Try that!

... Skinny Girl is just watered down stuff ... and besides . why would anyone wanna make that obnoxious Bethenny Frankel any more wealthy ??

Skinny Girl is also expensive. I agree with your alternative suggestion.

When you are ordering Skinny girl drinks, you have to look at the contents. Some bars and restaurants actually make their drinks with fresh lime juice and splash of cranberry juice for a Cosmo or for the margaritas use agave/fresh lime juice with triple sec and tequila. On the Allure there is one margarita that is made like that. I just don't remember the name.

The mixes have a lot of calories...the frozen drinks are the worst.

Do the Diet Coke with Coconut flavored rum -- quite good.
