Welcome to Cruise Critic.

We circled South American on the Grand last year and loved the ship.

You may want to go to the Ports Of Call sections for info on your ports.

You may also want to check the Roll Call. This is where you meet others sailing with you. To join, go to the top of this page and move the cursor over "Community". Select Roll Calls from the drop down. Scroll to your cruise line and then Click on your ship. Finally, find the thread for your sailing.

We are on the Grand in Alaska in July of 2015. We even scored a $100 pp price reduction thanks to advice I got from reading cruise critic! We were on the Coral in Alaska in 2008 and look forward to seeing how the Grand compares.

We were on the Grand June 2013 to Alaska and loved it! If you are taking the route that cruises Tracy Ar Fjord, it is definitely worth getting up early to see.

I also recommend the Whale Watching excursion in Juneau -- simply amazing.

We had Anytime Dining and found the Botticelli dining room to be an excellent choice aroun 6:30-7:00. never more than a few minutes wait. On our sailing, this dining room was used for early traditional and then opened up to anytime at the end of that seating. Make sure to take advantage of the International Cafe for a delectable breakfast or an afternoon snack.

All in all, this cruise was one of our favorite vacations! Have a wonderful cruise!!

We have cruised Princess to Alaska 6 times. Most recent this summer(July) and last year (August). Never get tired of the beautiful scenery. Both of those times weather was fabulous.

Every time we go, we do something different in the ports(excursions) and discover something new. This last time we went to Eagle preserve as part of a tour. Never saw so many eagles. Lots of nests with babies too.The preserve has over 4000 eagles so they were all over ,flying , on tree branches etc , just amazing.Another time we did Photographic tour

whale watching in Juneau. Don't need to be a photographer to do this tour, Professional Photographer Guide is there to help you.

Probably will go again next summer.

We were on the Grand in Alaska this August. It was wonderful! I agree with previous posts above, definitely get out into the countryside and see the sights. There are lots of recommendations for excursion companies on the Alaska specific board. Many great vendors which provide options outside of the cruiseline excursions, spending more time actually on the activity and for lower costs.

Enjoy!
