Suggestions Needed for pre-cruise night in Tampa

We are a group of 5 looking for a hotel to stay at for the night before our cruise leaving out of Tampa. Someone had mentioned the Tahitian Inn and it does look nice, but breakfast isn't included so I'm looking for more suggestions. Would like one that has breakfast included in the price, plus shuttle from airport to hotel AND to the cruise in the morning. It needs to either have an on-site restaurant or one or more restaurants within close walking distance. Thanks!

For 5 people you may want to look into a suite. Chase Suites Rocky Point offers suites, plus one and two bedrooms. The hotel is near the airport and a 15 min shuttle ride from the port. They offer a cruise pkg which includes an airport shuttle, breakfast and a shuttle to and FROM the port.

The hotel is in an upscale part of Tampa that overlooks the Bay..... so a nice view. There is a Bahama Breeze restaurant adjacent to the hotel.

* This would be my pick for a party of 5 *

Just an FYI- a lot of Tampa hotels that offer a cruise pkg do NOT include the return shuttle back to the airport or hotel (if you park a car) ..... this is a savings of $25, which is the taxi rate from the port to Tampa airport-4 passengers. So, just keep this in mind when checking out packages and rates. For a party of 5, it may be worth it to book a hotel that offers the return shuttle... this will take care of any transportation worries and cost after your cruise is over.

You could also check the rates at the Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point and/or Hampton Inn Rocky Point. Also, not sure about the return shuttle but the Best Western Bay Harbor on Rocky Point is also very nice .

Just a heads-up-- whatever you decide, do book early. Your dates are very popular and the hotels will just continue to book-up and rise in price. I believer that is the week of President's Day which means a 3-day weekend. It's a busy time for the hotels in the area.

Here is another option if you find that the Cruise Pkg rates are sky-high and/or you cannot secure a hotel room for 5.

Try the LaQuinta Tampa Airport location. I do not think that they have a cruise pkg per say but they do offer an airport shuttle and a hot breakfast plus they are in a decent, safe and clean area directly across from the International Plaza Mall (lots of restaurants and shops) and adjacent to a 24 hr IHOP. The hotel used to offer a per person $ shuttle to the port.... not sure of the return....

BUT...... the rates here are very reasonable compared to some other hotels with cruise pkgs so price out the cost of the room, which would incl your airport transportation and breakfast and then call the hotel and inquire as to what the fee is for a port shuttle or taxi rate. It may save you money just to pay the room only rate here and just take a taxi or such.

I would second FlaGrl4Evr on Chase Suites. We had 6 in a room that was a two-story with a loft bedroom, a closed door bedroom and the fold out couch (was fine for the kids). Great breakfast included with make your own belgian waffles. Shuttle to the port was timely, reserved when we arrived. Loved the Bahama Breeze, was thrilled to find that there is one about 45 minutes from our home in Carroll County MD.

Hilton Garden Inn – Ybor City

We did their park and cruise package a few years ago. Everything was included. Shuttle there and back, parking and great breakfast.

There are a lot of cool restaurants and bars with in walking distance. Had a really fun night out before our cruise.
