LA Romana Dominican Republic - Beach Question

On Hal's Zaandam Christmas Cruise (12/21) which stops here. Tours listed on Hal's web site don't seem that exciting.... Having two teenage sons with us, we'd love to check out any local beaches or snorkeling excursions. Any feedback would be welcome!!!!!

There are lots of cabs that will take you to the beaches. Not too far away and very nice white sand, warm water. When we were there the beaches had allot of people on them who, I think, were staying at the beach resorts and spoke mostly Spanish. There are also several vendors of local crafts located on the beach in some little shanty type strucures. I think there are also beach chairs for rent.
