Davey Wavey thank you that makes a lot more sense than $12,500......my luck though I would be the one who spent the $10,000 and walked away in debt! LOL thats why I do very little gambling.

That was me on the craps table on the Imagination in July got killed. Lost 800 one night in about 30 mins. I play big and usually win some or lose some but nothing big. But this was crazy.... kept crapping out over and over. And I was too stubborn to quit until. I was 800 down... a few to many drinks didn't help! At least I got a Premier cruise out of it.

Got off the Liberty on Sunday. Received a letter from the casino for a free inside cabin. Just booked the splendor for December 14! Upgraded to a balcony for only 160. Score!

Congrats! I was on Glory 3 weeks ago and on the last night of the cruise, the casino manager handed me a letter/certificate for a free cruise. I, too, paid to upgrade to a balcony ($70/pp). I'm going back on Glory one week from today, albeit on a completely different itinerary.

Sounds like a great value, free offer......I had heard that they give you an ankle bracelet that tracks your movement...If you spend 30% or more of your time in the casino you a get free cruise...........:)

I would not win any points, because as soon as I win a couple of hundred, I would be out of there so quick, never to return. What's the saying? A scared gambler never wins? That would be me. :D

so if i'm doing my math right you have to spend $12,500 to get 5000 points to get offered a "free" cruise???

They count play not how much you win or lose so a person who brought the money to the table even if they take it back home can win the points. Unfortunately I have really bad luck so if I got the points you can bet I also paid the money. I've spent on average six to eight hundred dollars per Cruz in the casino on my last few cruises yet I was never compted anything until I received this Players Club offer of an inner room for $100 with $100 onboard credit. The offer evidently though is not based on how much you play but was just a random event. But you did have to be a member of the Players Club and the offer was only good for cruises booked by October 31st for select cruises in November December and January.

My son was 19 on our Thanksgiving cruise last year and got one of the free cruise letters a few weeks ago. I can assure you he didn't spend a lot of money in the casino, although he came out ahead and enjoyed being a "grown up" playing with his uncle and dad. So happy to be past the Camp Carnival Days!

We received a flyer in the mail, offering a free Carnival Cruise. I was skeptical and thought it was a scam. However, I subsequently determined that it was a legitimate offer from Carnival. I booked a January cruise, from Ft Lauderdale, and only paid port charges/taxes.

After doing so, I read the footnotes on the confirmation, and discovered that I could book a second "free" cruise. So I booked back-to-back cruises.

This was surprising because:

Of the 7 cruises we have taken, only 1 was on Carnival-years ago.

We are NOT high rollers in the casino; play penny slots on very limited budget.

We did acquire a "casino card", but could not have accumulated hardly any points.

We feel that our selection was totally random, in an effort by Carnival to get people on their ships. The Carnival CEO recently discussed this concept, in saying that once you get them on a ship-they are bound to spend money: alcohol, casino, alternative restaurants, shore excursions, etc. Empty cabins on a ship generate no money! So his strategy is to use some criteria, in selecting people for these offers. This time it was stated that it was for people who have had a "casino card", on a past cruise.

This is the first time that we have been offered a "free cruise", by any cruise line. We have received fabulous discounts because of my military veteran status, however.

It's not what you actually spend BUT what you put through the machine. Example you play penny slots $3.00 a spin but win $1.50 and play that many times over that is money put through the machine and counts towards your points.

I was skeptical as well and didn't call carnival back for years on those free offers. Big mistake!

Sometimes they will even pay your tip fees and taxes too. I got a completely free cruise last year. My travel bud and I didn't pay anything - no tip fee - no port fees or taxes.

Plus we chose to go out of South Carolina and got free parking with my handicapped placard.

Good luck hope you win!
