MissMouthy Posted November 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We are taking a Princess cruise in February and I'm hoping our kids will enjoy spending lots of time in the kids clubs. I understand those employees are not part of the tipping pool, so I'm wondering if most families tip the workers there. If so, how much do you tip? To the group or per worker? CruisinFinsUp Posted November 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Sometimes there are envelopes at the door on the last day. If the staff made our kids really enjoy their trip, we tipped - we put an amount in the envelope with a note addressed to the manager exoressing our appreciation of those that took care of our kids and asking that the tip be shared amongst them. Sometimes the kids knew names, other times not ( when they were younger). The amount varied with how much our kids attended the club and how much they enjoyed themselves, how many days the cruise was. The staff on some cruises were clearly better than others. We tipped similar to tipping the babysitters at home.
jam82 Posted November 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We trip $5 per hour and usually give it to the them on the last day. However, sometimes we have tipped each day. We always tip as we go if we use the nighttime babysitting.
cb at sea Posted November 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2014 They are not "tipped" employees because they are paid a very nice wage! I would think $10-20 for an entire week would be more than enough.....like I said...they are not "service" personnel and get paid a very nice wage. CI66774 Posted November 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2014 I've never tipped the kid's club personnel on Princess. They are paid nice wages and there never was any request or indication there should be tips.

This is what we have done when our kids were little.
MissMouthy Posted November 12, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Whew! I'm glad to hear that! $5 to $10 an hour seemed like a LOT, especially when I've heard of folks having to drag their kids out! $10 or $20 at the end seems like a nice amount. Thanks again for all the advice and input!
