lovinsea Posted November 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Know this souunds like a strange question to anyone who has stayed in a sky suite on the Equinox. I need to know how high is the bathtub, I know they don't have a separate shower, so my problem is trying to get into the tub. I'm a short person 5' tall had hip replacemend last year, I don't need a handicap room siince I can walk fine and don't need assistance with anything else in my daily life. No one from Celebrity can tell me how high the tub is so I can determine if I can manage it. I really like Sky suite for the extra room. Thanks for any info you can supply. Maligator Posted November 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2014 About knee-high for a 5-footer, I'd guess. The side of the tub is mostly cropped out on my photo, but it looks like the bathroom floor is a few inches higher than the bottom of the tub. You might be able to use the partial glass wall to brace yourself. ECL002 by AV8PIX Hickory Shampoo, on Flickr
cle-guy Posted November 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2014 I'd say the tub top is at about the same height as the toilet seat, perhaps a couple inches taller. So imagine that next time you are in the bathroom doing, um, your business. :D I had a tub in my Celebrity Suite on M class, and it was definitely high, so are the tubs in the higher suites. It was awkward, but totally doable. I've read where some have been able to get a step stool from the butler. And there are grab bars and the towel bars are securely fastened to the walls to assist as well.
AZNative2000 Posted November 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) One more photo. Just click on the thumbnail. I think the towel bars double as grab bars if needed. Sorry the photo isn't larger. Edited November 12, 2014 by AZNative2000
s1amblue Posted November 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2014 If it is not easily stepped into, sit on the side of the tub, use hand rail for safety and swing your legs over & in. Reverse BUT put a dry towel on the edge so you being now wet won't slip on the now wet & slippery side of the tub. :)
Lsimon Posted November 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2014 A nice goto place for good cabin and ship photos is Andrew Depping's cruise ship gallery site. Here is a good photo of an Equinox SS bathroom showing the tub: http://www.depping-design.de/test/displayimage.php?album=107&pid=2884#top_display_media
bbeltmom Posted November 12, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2014 If you don't use the tub and just shower, you could book an accessible SS. I understand that they have no tub and they are a little bigger.
