My experience is that the Southern Caribbean is a bit cooler and with a bit (few degrees) less humidity in December.

You might plan for a light jacket in the evenings but for the most part you'll find it will be warm and breezy. Enjoy your cruise! :)

Average temperature throughout most of the Southern Caribbean is about 85 F and the closer you get to the equator, the warmer it gets. We always bring an umbrella as on the rain forest islands it rains every day (like Dominica) while some are more desert-like such as Aruba. Have never brought a jacket but do bring a sweater which is sometimes needed on board the ship.

We often cruise during December and the above information is most likely correct, but three years ago (I think) it was very, very cool. We layered clothing, bought and wore sweatshirts from the on-board shop and then put our cheap plastic ponchos over that. We were on board three weeks and it was never warm!

For the most part, unless you are on an open deck it will be warm and comfortable with just a top and shorts. On exposed decks, including a balcony, the wind from the motion of the ship will make it feel cooler, which can mean you will want something long sleeved.

Interiors like the dining room are often too cool for many people, so a sweater or wrap may help to keep the chill off.
