mcorrus Posted November 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Ok so here's a question. Going on the Liberty this weekend, and thinking about doing the drink program. Do I have to purchase it Sunday when we board or can I wait till the second day and get it for the remainder of the cruise. Also what is the exact cost after tax? wiskt Posted November 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) This chart will help you calculate the cost. ENTER the amount of days your cruise (in the upper right) and everything should adjust accordingly. Its a great tool to figure if it is worth it or not. Consider how may PORT DAYS you will be ashore as this reduces the amount of on-board drinks. Sometimes you could be better off taking advantage of the CLASSIC COCKTAIL DRINK program over the CHEERS package. BUY a CLASSIC DRINK and take your receipt to the CASINO CAGE. They will give you a $5 Match-N-Play coupon back for every receipt you turn in. Then you can place a $5 bet on the Roulette table along with your Match-n-Play for a $10 bet, spin the wheel and possibly win all your drink money back. :D I have actually done this and pretty much drank for FREE! winning all my $$ back. You need to keep the ORIGINAL receipt and sign and give the bartender the "copy". katiel53 Posted November 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2014 You can buy it the second day for the rest of the cruise. Just remember that you will have to pay for all the drinks you had on the first day because they won't do the program retroactively. Enjoy! GoingPlacesSoon Posted November 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that if you wait until the second day of cruise, in International Waters, you don't pay the taxes and save one day, about $50/per person. Yes you do have to pay per drink for the first day when you embark

Yes you do have to pay per drink for the first day when you embark You pay 49.95 pp per day, plus 15% gratuity. There is no tax involved on the purchase of the program. Taxes come into play per individual drink while you're still in the embarkation port or while you visit any US ports such as Key West.

Do you need to enroll in the Classic Cocktail Drink program?
figdu Posted November 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) How come the price varies with the number of days you are cruising? Do you need to enroll in the Classic Cocktail Drink program? The price no longer varies by the length of the cruise. There was about a 60 day period when it did but it is now a flat fee of $49.95 plus 15% regardless of days. with the Carnival out that it can be raised or lowered at embarkation. lele100 Posted November 19, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 19, 2014 I think the spreadsheet, attached to this thread has not been updated. It is still showing the price when it varied by day, for example $37.50 for a 7 day, now it is 49.95 per day plus tips
