Anthem vs. Allure

We have not been on any of the newer RCCL ships, we are looking to do a Thanksgiving cruise in 2015 and cannot decide between:

 

 

(1) Anthem - 8 days

 

Pro:

Brand New Ship!

One Extra Day

 

Con:

Flying to New Jersey (it is further than FLL from DFW)

One Extra Day (means taking another day off work)

 

 

(2) Allure - 7 days

 

Pro:

Better Ports

Flying to FLL (we have done this before and are comfortable finding our way around there)

 

Con:

One Less Day

Slightly Older Ship (compared to Anthem)

 

They are about the same price, so that's not really a factor

 

Please help us decide!!

I would not fly to New Jersey in late November to take a Bahamas cruise, when I could fly to Florida instead.

Yes, that should definitely be added as a con to the Anthem sailing...possible bad weather!! :eek:

It could take a couple of days to get to warm weather, but if you had your heart set on trying the skydiving simulator.......

If you haven't sailed on either ship (obviously I know you haven't sailed on Anthem) then I would pick the Allure. Yes, you are losing a day but it should be better weather the whole trip. With the Anthem you would "lose" a couple days waiting to get to the warmer weather!

 

Save the Anthem cruise for a time when the weather won't be as cold.

My four cruises were out of Fla. Which included Allure and Oasis. This time

we are going out of NJ in Jan. I am not crazy about it. Not after the crappy weather we are having now. I sure hope the new ship is worth it. I doubt we will ever go to NJ again.

 

WEll, LET you know after Feb. what happens.
