San Diego Ellie Posted November 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2014 We are going on Crown in a couple of days, and I am wondering whether noro is a problem on the current cruise, after the deep cleanse on Sunday. If anyone is on the ship now, or has heard from a cruiser who is on Crown now, I would appreciate any information? Thanks!
paul929207 Posted November 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Someone posted this morning that the Captain announced last night (?) that there was still noro on the ship and that additional people had come down with it.

Wow. That is not good. We just got off the Golden. It was a great cruise. However, there was one disturbing issue. At 4 different times in the public bathrooms they were out of hand soap! Sometimes out of toilet paper and seat covers as well. I try not to use the public bathrooms but it isn't always convenient to go back to the cabin. The hand soap issue was not good. We never even saw any crew in the bathrooms cleaning the whole cruise. Usually you do see someone periodically. The floors were also dirty in the bathrooms during the cruise. I am surprised to hear of the bathroom conditions on the Golden. This ship is usually maintained well. Thank you for bringing this to the thread. Did you speak to anyone regarding the conditions of the bathrooms?
atdahop Posted November 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2014 We were on the Golden in October and yes there were seat covers in the public bathrooms.
bogeydi Posted November 21, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 21, 2014 Just got an email from Princess that the Crown still has Norovirus and will undergo another deep cleaning - including the terminal. Boarding will not begin until 6:30 pm.
shredie Posted November 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2014 We were on the Golden in October and yes there were seat covers in the public bathrooms. And attendants in the bathrooms. I was in one where one of the soap dispensers was broken, but the others worked. Maybe someone has gone around and broken them all since October.
bogeydi Posted November 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2014 Re: this Saturday's departure: "CROWN PRINCESS PRE-BOARDING HEALTH ADVISORY Please be advised that over the last few days of the current cruise, there has been a slightly higher than expected number of cases of gastrointestinal illness among guests caused by norovirus. Throughout the cruise we have been carrying out a comprehensive sanitation program and although case numbers remain relatively low and are further declining, in an abundance of caution we have arranged for the ship to undergo an additional disinfection in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Check-in for your cruise will be delayed until 6:30 PM. Please do not arrive earlier than 6:00 PM as the terminal will be closed for sanitation and there will be no seating or services available. To minimize terminal congestion we use a progressive check-in schedule as follows: 6:30 PM - Dolphin and Emerald Decks: Cabins begin with D or E 7:15 PM - Caribe and Riviera Decks: Cabins begin with C or R 8:00 PM - Aloha and Lido Decks: Cabins begin with A or L 8:45 PM - Baja and Plaza Decks: Cabins begin with B or P Crown Princess is expected to depart Los Angeles at 10:00 PM."
