Celebrity first timer

We have booked two adjoining Celebrity Suites on the Constellation for March. This will be our first time on Celebrity- we are D+ on RCCL. Looking forward to trying Celebrity, but am still unclear as to what extra benefits we will receive as suite guests. I am having trouble finding info on Michael's Club. Also wondering if we can dine in Blu- do we receive the same benefits as Aqua Suites?

Hi DREWDIE,

Welcome to Celebrity

# 1- As an RCCL Criuiser you will receive "Privleges" with Celebrity's Captain Club if you are a Crown & Anchor Cruiser at Platinum Level or above

Start the process at RCCL's Crown & Anchor Pg... Whole section on what you need in the FAQs

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas/aboutprogram.do?cS=NAVBAR&pnav=6&snav=3

# 2- Michaels Club was previously a Sports & Craft Beer Bar... In anticipation of Celebrity's AI Suite Class (coming April 2015) it has been turned into the Suites Lounge and offers its own Concierge and a bunch of other perks (someone else will provide you that info no doubt)

Additionally, if you qualify (see # 1) Celebrity has an assortment of events for their Captain's Club Members... Depending on your level (or Privileges) you will be invited to take part. Lowest levels have a one time get-together, upper levels have Cocktail Hours or Drink Coupons, Daily Breakfast... And many other perks

Again, I am certain that other CC Members will provide more details

Cheers!

Ps... Might help if you tell us what level you are with RCCL

drewdie,

Some of your benefits will overlap since you have booked a suite. Captain's Club Elite members get bottled water in their cabins daily. They also get a bottle of sparkling wine which we usually turn in for a credit in Blu toward a better vintage of anything in the wine list.

Depending on the sailing you may find a lounge available but more than likely you will receive the drink chits. Overcrowding of the lounge may be the culprit or previous booking of the facility may also be the cause.

You can dine in Blu on a space available basis. Sometimes there is no wait for suite passengers. Even if there is a delay it won't be long and you can wait comfortably in the lounge and the maître 'd will find you and escort you to your table.

For a list of the Elite benefits check out the Celebrity web site under Captain's Club perks. I think you will find your suite perks are equal to or better.

The Connie is one of our favorite ships and I hope you enjoy your cruise.

Michael's Club is the dedicated lounge for passengers in Celebrity Suites and above. The suite concierge is based there. It is sort of like a country club atmosphere. Drinks are complimentary and apparently the bartender will arrange to have your requests on hand (within reason, I imagine!) Sometimes hot appetizers are served , and there are some other perks such as meetings with the officers and special entertainment (although this seems to vary somewhat by all reports.) At the moment, there is some question on these boards on when drinks are served (some reports say not til 5:00 pm) and whether drinks can be removed from the club. Non alcoholic drinks such as water and sodas are always available and can be taken out. You will also be eligible for the Elite cocktail hour, which is sometimes held 5-7 pm in a designated lounge, and sometimes covered by vouchers which can be used around the ship, but only during the designated time frame. The other disadvantage of this is that only certain drinks are offered. Overall, you are probably better off in Michael's unless you want to socialize with other Elites. Passengers are not allowed in Michael's unless they are in a high end suite, even as guests.

Being captain's club elite has nothing at all to do with water in your cabin. Aqua class gets two bottles of water per day in each cabin...not sure about suites.

Depending on the sailing you may find a lounge available but more than likely you will receive the drink chits. Overcrowding of the lounge may be the culprit or previous booking of the facility may also be the cause.

As a captain's club elite passenger, you will be inivited to the two hour social event from 5-7 each night with drinks from a menu. As a suite guest who has access to michael's club (I believe sky suites are not invited) where I believe you can drink as much as you want any time (someone else will have to post the real rules on that). If there are too many elite's on board, they will give each elite three drink chits per night, usable at most bars between 5-7....however this usually only happens on transatlantic cruises with 600 or more elites on board.

You can dine in Blu on a space available basis. Sometimes there is no wait for suite passengers. Even if there is a delay it won't be long and you can wait comfortably in the lounge and the maître 'd will find you and escort you to your table.

Celebrity has started to use those light up pucks if there is a wait...you can go to any bar or seating in the area and when your table is ready, the lights will flash and you just return to blu. (note: they also offer 50% off at a specialty restaurant that night if you prefer not to wait} (may not be on all ships or cruises)

For a list of the Elite benefits check out the Celebrity web site under Captain's Club perks. I think you will find your suite perks are equal to or better.

We are D+ with RCI and sailing in a Celebrity suite on the Connie next week. My first time on Celebrity since they were acquired by RCI.

Make sure you contact Celebrity's Captains club and be prepared to provide your RCI # so your reservation can be properly tagged. Even though you are D+ you will be assigned as an Elite (not Elite+) with Celebrity.

As to your question on BLU, you can ask your Butler to arrange a time to dine there. Suite guests are not ENTITLED to BLU, but almost always welcomed in. They may ask you to dine at "off times" after the 6 and 8:30 rush. The butler is a unique feature of Celebrity's Suite program, avail yourself to all the indulgences this opportunity will offer!

You will not be able to bring non Suite or non Aqua guests to dine with you, even if you would like to pay a cover charge.

I usually have a drinks package, and with it, my butler has always replenished my waters and coke's upon request, though technically, it's not something that is an entitlement of the suite or Beverage package (room service beverages are not covered) and may not be something all butlers would do. It;'s possible he took my sea pass account and just went to a bar and got my beverages on my behalf to keep it stocked.

As you are sailing in a Celebrity suite (I actually prefer it to the Royal on the M class ships) you should receive a pre-crusie email from the Michael's Club Concierge and you can alert them to any special requests, dining arrangements etc.

I would say it's a shame you are sailing just prior to Suite perks roll out in April, but in honesty, the Celebrity suite has nothing major added to it in that program, other than the new Suite Dining room that's coming in April. The Royal suite is where the real perks come out in that program.

Sorry if this is a stupid question... I'm gold with RCCL. Do I receive any benefits from Celebrity (similar to Princess & P&O linking up?)

RCI gold is their beginner level for benefits. You will have reciprocal benefits with Celebrity but to be honest what you may receive isn't anything to write home about. Check the Celebrity Captains Club for specifics.

In order to get perks that really amount to anything you need to get to Diamond or better in RCI or Elite or better in Celebrity.

Don't forget to contact Celebrity and provide them your C&A number if you decide to book.

Reciprocal benefits do not start until the Platinum Level with C&A at which time Celebrity Captain's Club will extend Elite Level perks.. Until one reaches that level on RCI, they will just open a captains club account at X and begin to accumulate points on X to receive benefits commensurate with the points earned on X.

How do I receive equivalent recognition in Celebrity Cruises' Captain's Club or Azamara Club Cruises' Le Club Voyage?

A: As a benefit of Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club membership in Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society, you will receive equivalent recognition in Celebrity Cruises' Captain's Club and Azamara Club Cruises’ Le Club Voyage. If you are currently a member of each loyalty program, you will automatically receive benefits based on your membership level between each. For instance, if you are a Crown & Anchor Platinum or Emerald member and a Captain's Club Classic member, you will be automatically be entitled to the Select level in the Captain's Club and Explorer in Le Club Voyage . If you are a Diamond or Diamond Plus member; you will automatically receive equivalent recognition as a Captain's Club Elite member and Discoverer in Le Club Voyage. The benefits of the programs will stay independent, and the number of sailings a member accrues on each brand will not be combined. You will earn the Cruise Credit or Cruise Point for the brand you are sailing as long as you are a member of that brand's loyalty program.

If you are a Captain’s Club Select or Le Club Voyage Explorer member, then you will receive Platinum benefits if you sail on a Royal Caribbean ship. If you are a Captain’s Club Elite or Discoverer in Le Club Voyage, then you will receive Diamond benefits for the Crown & Anchor Society.

If you are a Platinum, Diamond or Diamond Plus member in the Crown & Anchor Society but not a member of the Captain's Club or Le Club Voyage and plan on sailing on Celebrity Cruises or Azamara Club Cruises, respectively, call the Loyalty Service Center at (800) 526-9723 to enroll for equivalent recognition. And please remember to provide your Membership Number whenever you reserve a cruise vacation to receive all the benefits you deserve.

Hi CLE-GUY,

Ya that is how I understood it as well. Gold is the beginning level in RCCL's Crown & Anchor, so no "Privleges" with Celebrity. Just like Classic is the beginning level in Celebrity's Captain's Club

Mind you... If the OP registers for a Captains Club Number BEFORE she sails (Preview Level) if she wanted to book another Celebrity Cruise while onboard, she could get the basic Captain's Club perks that we all get on Rebookings:

* 1 Sub-Category Upgrade

* 50% Deposit

Mind you both of them have their own Terms & Conditions that may or my not jive with current offerings by the Future Cruises Office onboard.

Cheers!
