dogchopper Posted November 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Im gonna be in Cozumel in February and am wondering a few things Is it possible to book some kind of dolphin excursion thru the park or just thru the ship (were gonna be on the carnival paradise ) . And, can you take your own pictures? I thought I heard you couldn't but I just saw someone's review and they said they didn't buy the photos but took so of their own?? Thanks. You can book your own swim experience, but will need to not tell them you are cruising with Carnival (pick the name of a big tourist hotel from your favorite travel web site); this will save you some $$ You can take your own photos, but not from very close. If you want good photos and video you will need to buy from them. :(

Now I just need to figure out if it's better to book thru them directly or thru carnival, and I have to figure out the difference between all the types of excursions. LadyBeBop Posted January 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2015 Bumping this up. Hope nobody minds. :) You can take your own photos, but not from very close. If you want good photos and video you will need to buy from them. :( How close can you get to the dolphins to take a picture? (I guess a good, disposable, water camera doesn't have zoom. How much are their pictures? I'd love to get at least a picture of my granddaughter's encounter. That said, on the RCCL site for excursions, it did suggest to "bring your camera." Maybe they allow close-up photography for official cruise-ship excursions.
sheeshshe Posted January 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2015 when we were there almost 2 years ago, they said we couldn't bring our camera to the swim, however they were selling waterproof disposable cameras for like $30 and you could take your own. It appeared as though some had brought their own waterproof disposable ones and they let them use those. But I'm not completely sure, there is the chance that they purchased the $30 ones from them. I really wish we had purchased the $30 camera, bc the ones they took for us to buy were so insanely expensive, I couldn't even afford one. :( now I have no photo memories of our dolphin experience :(

Maybe because we brought it from home and it was a "good" underwater camera, they made us take it to the lockers. Sea Ya
