Rare Coral Posted August 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2005 I am used to the small narrow shore excursion books that Princess usually sends in the pre-cruise docs. I just got my pre-cruise docs for my Canada/New England cruise in October and this book is huge - it is the same size/shape (and probably a little thicker) as the Caribbean brochure that people look at with all the sailing dates, ship diagrams and prices. This is not a tiny book that used to be sent out. I am not sure when they started doing this but I am very impressed with the new books. The text is larger then the other shore excursion books, there are about 3 pictures per shore excursion for many shore excursions and the text looks good (can't compare the text to a previous trip, sorry). kimba_99 Posted August 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2005 First cruise in 2003 we had the skinny excursion booklet but last cruise (end of 04) we got the bigger book... much better than the old style for sure!:) Kim

Maybe it is the destination that determines the book but I would have thought Alaska would have had a larger book.
Coolmama_1 Posted August 23, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2005 That is good news. My dad is vision impaired and it is always easier for him with larger print. Can't wait to get ours for our January trip. Judy
SharkieRools Posted August 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2005 I've had both styles the past couple of years. Our cruise this year to Alaska featured the narrower version.
cruzbabe Posted August 23, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2005 For our March 2005, we received the skinny ones and for our August 2005 sailing, we got the new books. I actually liked it better.
Iamthesea Posted August 23, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Love the new books! So easy to read and the photo's are nice too. I had already read about the excursions online, however after seeing some of the photo's, I decided I didn't want to book one of them.
