momtodogs Posted August 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2005 All the pictures of deck chairs I have seen show the chaise lounge kind, particularly along the railings. I prefer to sit upright (back problems.) Are any of the deck chairs upright? Would they be too difficult to move to where you want to sit?
Esme Posted August 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Yes, you can put the lounges into the upright position. I also have back problems, so I just take one of the blue beach towels that are provided at both pools, roll it up and put it behind my back (like a lumbar pad). Krazy Kruizers Posted August 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Yes, you move the lounge chairs anywhere you want to. The attendants have them all set up in neat rows at the begining of the day, but by the end of the day, people have moved the chairs to suit themselves - some want more sun - some want more shade. bepsf Posted August 23, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2005 Of course there are also the traditional wooden deckchairs on Upper Promenade... ...they tend to cluster near the stern on the way north to Alaska.
RuthC Posted August 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2005 While I was on the Maasdam some of those white lounge chairs were being replaced by new ones that are much more comfortable. They are a faux-wicker, with a curve to them. They can also be adjusted for an upright position. The tables and chairs were being changed, too. I think the old, plastic white chairs are more comfortable; you lean back too far in the new ones.
