Computers on Quantum

What kind of operating system is on Quantum.

 

Do they have Windows or Apple.

 

Is there someone to help you if you encounter a problem.

Quantum had 4 Apple computers in the library area on the upper level of TWO70. Assistance was not directly available in that area.

 

You have an area next to Shore Excursions on deck 5 to assist with the RoyalIQ and connectivity concerns.

That does not seem to be enough computers for so many people.

 

I have Windows 8.1 and am not familiar with Apple, so will not be able to use.

 

Probably a lot of people bring their lap tops with them.

if youre going to use a computer. typically people bring their own anyways so there are barely anyone on those computers (since you have to pay for internet regardless if you use ur own or the library computers)

You'll only use it for its browser - for that, there's very little diff from your W8.1 PC. You'll figure it out.

 

Yes, for that big a ship it is way too few computers. The only reason they are not crowded all the time is due to the out of the way location of the library.

 

One other difference from other ships - there's no per minute plan, you have to get the cheapest "package" to get on line. As usual, the RCI affiliated sites are free to browse.

Hopefully you can also use your Android or iPhone to access the ship's WiFi as well. I used my android phone on Explorer earlier in the month. Actually worked pretty well, although WiFi is only available in certain areas of the ship on Explorer. I also hope Quantum would be better bandwidth/ speed wise.
