billnheather Posted December 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2014 So I saw Carnival gift cards in the store today! I didnt even know that they made them! My question is can you apply them to an obc?? we are going on three cruises this year and they are already paid for, so we normally have a large bar bill and my DW is a picture-a-holic so can you apply the card pre boarding and use them as an obc?? kona_wahine Posted December 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Remember, if you are a Verizon customer, you can get them 10% off with their smart rewards program. :)
Budget Queen Posted December 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Keep an eye out for online buying and getting discounts. I would never buy any of these gift cards without it. A few days ago, (now expired) with the Carnival credit card, they had a buy $500 card and get an extra $100 gift card. :)

Rare pirate4me2 Posted December 3, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Haven't seen them yet here in NC but I have been buying mine thru the Verizon rewards program. It would be cool to see them here tho and put them on my Christmas list!
grumplin Posted December 3, 2014 #13 Share Posted December 3, 2014 I have not found them either yet. However an older lady told me you can but Carnival cruise certificates at $90 for $100 on the AARP site through health rewards. I'm not old enough but our parents are! Gary34 Posted December 3, 2014 #15 Share Posted December 3, 2014 I have heard that they are in Kroger grocery stores, but the VERIZON option is probably our best bet Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app
grumplin Posted December 3, 2014 #16 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Do you need to be on the Verizon plan to use them or can you give them to others?
ccruisequeen Posted December 4, 2014 #17 Share Posted December 4, 2014 It's a moot point to say use the Verizon plan if you aren't on Verizon 😉 I still cruise for Warm Chocolate Melting Cake (with 2 sugar-free vanilla ice-creams)
Cruznjuly Posted December 5, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Have looked in Vons, Lowes, Target, WalMart, Sams Club, Albertsons, and Ralphs here in So Cal... No luck. :( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RWolver672 Posted December 5, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I've checked with all of the stores that supposedly sell them and so far, none of them carry it around here. I did check with the Verizon rewards program. They do offer 10% off but they only have the $100 cards. You have to use 1000 points for the 10% off. I checked with the Carnival site and they offer the cards in $25, $50, $75, $100 or specify amount. They also sell a tin to put them in for $1.99. They guarantee delivery by Christmas if you order before certain dates depending on how you have it shipped.

BamaCruiser20 Posted December 5, 2014 #21 Share Posted December 5, 2014 If you apply the cards to OBC and don't use it all, is it refundable at end of cruise? No need to apply the card to your sailing before you go. When you are on board, you an stop at one of the kiosks (or go to Guest Services) and apply whatever portion of the balance you want to your S&S account. Whatever you don't use will stay on the card for later use, just like a regular gift card.
